To keep things light when shredding backside powder, we kit up with the Dakine Poacher RAS Vest. We load our avy gear in its designated compartment for easy access when needed and slip our radio inside the insulated compartment to keep it out of the battery-draining cold. Attachment points let us strap our skis on diagonally for the bootpack, while the padded mesh-lined back panel keeps things comfortable and breathable on the climb. When harvesting those soft powder turns, the vest-style design moves with us, so we forget we're even wearing a pack at all. For even greater peace of mind, we outfit this vest with Dakine's Impact Spine Protector and Mammut's Removable Airbag System 3.0 (both sold separately).
