Not meant for long hikes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is not the back pack for hiking. Great for going from the house to your mail box but not for strapping in a snowboard and hiking a mountain to earn your turns. Good for grocery shopping.

Picture is wrong

Great bag at a great sale price but be warned the shoulder straps/ grab handle are incorrectly shown in the picture. The Straps go right into the bag and the grab handle is separate, fixed to the top of the bag between pockets like the rest of the 25l mission bags.

    Great all around pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this thing for a little bit of everything. School, church, work, hiking, traveling, everything. Tons of room, durable and good looking. What else could you ask for.

    Can I buy 10 more??

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is the best backpack I've probably ever owned. It's compact but fits a ton of stuff, and you can use it for pretty much anything! I can't wait until I can go hiking with this bad boy. It's truly an amazing bag and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone :D

    Love it!

I bought the "Floyd" backpack for school and it's great! Fits all my books and lap top with ease. I'd definitely recommend the backpack.

I am looking for a backpack on the medium to small size, that I can take with me to Bali for my carry on item, including my yoga mat. Would this be a good backpack for this activity?

Hey Jessica - This backpack would a great choice as a carry-on for your trip to Bali. You can use the snowboard carry straps to attach your yoga mat. I have been to Bali and traveled all over Southeast Asia so feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Great for person of any age

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really like this backpack because it adequately hold my daily school needs and it also allows me to hold my board much easier, i love the board mount because if i need a spot to throw my board while im riding my bike or if i am in school then i have the perfect spot!! I can also hold my snowboard and though it is not meant to i can make my skis stay on the back of there as well so it is really nice to use when i go skiing or boarding, because i end up walking a few blocks from the bus to get home!! Great pack for any age you wont regret the buy!!!

    Good solid pack

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great little pack with plenty of compartments, and is made pretty solid to cop a beating. Only downside being it doesn't has a section for a bladder.

    Great Overall Pack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got the backpack in middle of spring so I never got a chance to use it for backcountry skiing. Otherwise, I use the backpack everyday just for college and carrying my skateboard and I love it! There are plenty of pockets to store all my different objects like my laptop, books, pens ect. It's also wonderful for hiking because of the straps that hold the bag closely to your back. I do wish it had a water bottle holder on the side. There's no convenient spot to put a bottle but a carbiner solved that. Definitely a good buy!

    Good for snowboarding

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

big enough for snowboard , taking some bottles of water and snowboard tools

    Also nice for daily backpack

Love its floral pattern , but its got some extra stuffs hanging on backpack somebody may not like this. I'm really looking forward to trying it for hiking up to the mountain with snowboard.

Good day pack/ resort cruising bag

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Let me be clear: This isn't a bag I would take into the backcountry, or for anything more than just a pack to throw some supplies in and head to the river (or to throw some beers in and stash at the mountain). That being said, for what it is, it's a solid backpack. Plenty of space for some sandwiches, water (or even a bigger water bladder), snacks, and beer. I've taken it on shorter day-hikes, and it does great for that, too. The clips on the front of the bag can extend to hold a snowboard easily, and I've used it a few times to hike up to a lunch spot on Mt Hood during the summer.
Overall, for a $40 pack, and one that you can strap your board to, I have no complaints. It's lasted me 2 years now, and still in my regular rotation!

Good day pack/ resort cruising bag

    Great quality and stylist colors

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Holds everything I need it to...love the black and electric blue. High quality. I would definitely recommend this backpack!

Would this back pack fit a 40" longboard? Looking for a backpack for school to ride my longboard to class and then hook my longboard into my back pack. I usually carry my lap top too, it s 15". Would that fit as well? Also, how do the dimensions in the description go? Height then width? Thanks!!

The padded laptop sleeve for this backpack is compatible for up to 15 inch laptops, so yours would fit perfectly. The external straps would also easily accommodate your 40" long board (note SarahAH's picture above). And the dimensions are 21 H x 11 W x 8 D.

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Amazing service!

Amazing service and amazing product! Love it! Thanks backcountry team. Good work.

      Ok backpack

I don't know is it was me but this backpack killed my back I found it a little hard not soft good backpack but not for me.

      All around backpack

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this bag! Mostly use it as a daily backpack, but have also used it at the ski resorts. My board fits snug on the board straps, and the bag is very tough on the outside. Many pockets for laptops, drink bottles, pencils/pens, you name it. Killer bag for resort skiing or just using it around town or for school.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a DaKine 20L DLX and thought I'd try this bag out since it was a little larger. This is a much different bag than the DLX, or some of DaKine's more premium backcountry bags. The material seems to be a less reinforced, and the zippers aren't as stout either. This is an adequate bag for your lunch/water bottle, or as an in-bounds resort bag to carry your items for "safety meetings", or would work great as a school bag too (there are even pencil holders ha ha).

If you're looking for a bag to put your probe, shovel, ice axe, splitboarding gear, etc in there are no specific pockets for any of these items and they'll just be loosely flopping around. The snowboard carrier portion of the pack is awkward too. The straps aren't long enough to get your board high up on your back to keep it from dragging in deep snow.

Spend the extra money and get one of DaKine's more premium packs. I wouldn't want to do any serious touring or boot packs in this bag.

      Resort bag, period.
