- Q & A
Amazing grip and great slide!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I've been super impressed with these so far- I was hesitant given the fact that they are 100% mohair but have found that they grip amazingly well, while preserving quite decent glide. I would compare the grip to that of older G3 Alpinist skins. The skins are quite supple and fold up easily, and the not super sticky glue is quite nice when putting skins on or taking them off. They are quite easy to handle. I have noticed that they loose their stickiness when soaked (pertinent as I've been skiing a lot of spring snow as of late) but I've always been able to get them to stick to my skis and they have dried out by the next morning, returning to full stickiness. I have not had any issues with glopping or residue being left on my skis.
The tip and tail hardware is a bit nontraditional, but highly functional. The tip connector was the tiniest bit difficult to trim (as I had to trim my skins down in length significantly) and you do not have the largest margin of adjustment with the tail clip. On snow though, they have performed flawlessly.
Overall, very happy and excited to see how they hold up in the seasons to come!
