Columbia Flash Forward Hooded Down Jacket - Men's

Simple style, advanced warmth.

Solid, simple, and super-warm, the Columbia Men's Flash Forward Hooded Down Jacket works just as well as a layering piece under a shell as it does as a standalone when the conditions lighten up. Made from durable polyester, this jacket has DWR-finish to repel moisture, and is packed with lightweight 650-fill power down insulation to keep you toasty while walking down wintry city streets and through brisk autumn woods. Elastic binding at the hood, cuffs, and hem adds an extra touch of cozy comfort, while the zippered front pockets provide a warm shelter for frozen digits if you happened to have forgotten your mitts for the cold-weather adventure.

I bought this for my 14 yr/old son who HATES wearing jackets. That being said, he loves this one. It is definitely light weight as I would expect it to be and he says it’s very warm. My son is tall for his age so we sized up and bought a L to cover the length of his arms so it is big on him but leaves room for layers underneath. The Black/Hyper Blue is not really my taste for color as the black is pretty shiny but I don’t have to wear it so as long as he is happy and wears it, I’m good with it. The one drawback my son has mentioned is that he wished that it had a waist cord to cinch up the bottom. Other than that, this jacket is completely worth it.

Better than expected

Light weight, but keeps me comfortable on a cold day. Would be great if the hood had a cinch cord, but not a deal breaker. This jacket works well as a layering jacket as well.

Looks lofty, but isnt.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I was pretty disappointed with this jacket. It looks pretty lofty on the pictures, but it's actually pretty thin. Great fall late spring jacket for going around town. The hood is pretty weird, and it has no way to cinch down on your head.

Perfect for what I needed

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Size Bought: XL

I bought this for climbing on Mt Shasta. It was great at Horse Camp and at Lake Helen. Light winds were no problem. It kept me warm and is so soft. I'm really happy with my purchase.

Just OK

I wasn't very impressed with this jacket. The quality isn't great, and not as warm a I expected. Very thin insulation. I was disappointed. Fit was OK. Also not happy to see the price has dropped 15 bucks.

Ok so I accidentally pressed return this item and I do not want to return this item because I like this coat. So what should I do ?

Laron,

You don't have to return it if you like it. You won't be charged for a shipping label, or rack up any fees for creating the return. Enjoy your jacket!

if I normally wear an athletic small, would I want to go M in this to compensate for the layers I'll be wearing under it? Probably but just making sure.
