Columbia Arcadia II Rain Jacket - Women's

Reliable rain protection at a great price.

If you're looking for a reliable shell at an affordable price that you can bring along just about anywhere, the Columbia Women's Arcadia II Rain Jacket will do just the trick. The jacket packs down into one of its hand pockets, so you'll never have to leave it behind, but its Omni-Tech laminate and fully taped seams provide waterproof protection whether you're on the trail or in town. Omni-Tech is also highly breathable, meaning it lets moisture, like perspiration, escape for comfort when you're working up a sweat. The jacket's mesh lining enhances ventilation so you don't get overly clammy in warmer temperatures, or sweat-soaked and cold when it's chilly. Cinch down the adjustable hood and hem if you need extra protection, and protect small essentials from the elements in the secure zippered hand pockets.

Great Jacket

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

Light weight and waterproof! Great for rainy walks or rainy tailgating activities. I never feel too hot, it is very breathable and comfy.

Perfect!!

  • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket for my oldest daughter's trip to MA for a music program. She loved it and it was so handy since it rained every day!!

A Dog Walker's Best friend!

  • Fit: True to size

I bought this one for my youngest daughter who is dog walking this summer! This is a perfect jacket for our daily, surprise showers here in the South!

Perfect jacket!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I got this as a gift for my mom and she loves it! She said it is perfect for the early morning walks she takes and was a perfect rain jacket when it rained on her camping trip. Light weight and fits well. She said this will be a go to jacket this summer.

A gift for my sister.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this as a gift for my sister she absolutely loves it, she says its lightweight enough she can pack it around (she uses it for mostly track meets) and it keeps her nice and dry in the random times it rains at the track.

Wife loves it

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Bought this for my wife, after she borrowed a similar jacket from me. She loves it as much she did mine.

Great but sleeves are short

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I have the pink (Wild Geranium). I selected "True to Size" because I think for the most part it is, but different people are different sizes. I got a small and it fits perfectly besides the sleeves are a bit short since I am tall. (I like longer sleeves anyway) definitely recommend it for Spring showers (as I only recently bought it). Not too heavy so it packs conveniently in a backpack or just carrying around. Love it.

Nice Coat!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

So far, so good! It's kept me dry during the heavy spring rains we get in the northeast. It's durable and waterproof enough that I'm comfortable taking it backpacking. It fits well over a light insulated jacket, and unlike most other jackets, its sleeves are long enough to actually cover my arms. I like how it packs into its own pocket; very convenient for travel or just keeping it with you incase it rains. The fabric is a bit on the crinkly side, but it seems more durable than rain jackets made of softer materials. As it is a shell and not a solid piece of plastic, it might need some extra waterproofing around the seams after its been through a number of rainstorms, but that's not a big deal. Love the Bluebell color, by the way! It's a good-looking, quality rain jacket, and it's cheaper here than anywhere else! Seriously, all the other retailers are asking $60-$90 for the exact same jacket! If you're on the fence about buying this jacket, just go for it.

It's nice, but hot Pink, not red (Ruby Red). It was also too large.

I bought this as a gift for my mother and she loves it. The fit is perfect. It is not a "boxy" fit and the colors are vibrant.

Nice jacket, but "Ruby Red" is pink!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Nice rain jacket, but the "Ruby Red" color is actually bright pink! I sadly returned it.

Survived several seasons British weather

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

This jacket has withstood several outings in Britain's variable weather, mainly in spring, summer and autumn. Relatively waterproof (no shell is 100%) in light to moderate steady rain for about 2 hours when first purchased a few years back. Not so much now. Recently used for hiking in Scotland's highlands in Sept-Oct with some leaking (luckily layers underneath did not let water through any further), but what disappointed most was the ripping at the outside pocket seams that has rendered them useless. I could see where the waterproofing won't last, but the pockets should. Loved the hidden inside pockets which are sadly not seen in the new version. This jacket is not as "crinkly" in texture as other outer rain shells and does provide ample room for layering with breathability. Four stars for lasting as long as it did, but I found the hood does not cover as well as other brands, particularly in gusty winds, plus the pocket seams. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised. It's really a decent outer jacket for layering in cooler conditions on walks/hikes, in the summer alone, or for around town to beat some rain showers. It travels easily folding into a side pocket. However, I wouldn't bet on it outlasting a couple years if you use it regularly. I sized up one to layer.

Lightweight & easy to pack

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XS

I was in Europe for 3 weeks and I needed something affordable and lightweight. I am 5'5" (US W 4) and I feel like the XS fit well around my torso. The sleeves weren't as long as I liked since I have long arms. So for me, the fit wasn't a dealbreaker even though it wasn't on par for my size.

You can conveniently fold it up into the side pockets which was really great since I was traveling with just a large backpack and a daypack. The interior has a mesh-like fabric that would constantly catch on the velcro, but it wasn't that bothersome since I was wearing it all the time.

My brother owns a Marmot rainjacket which is much louder and "swishy" when worn, so I would say this is moderately loud. The fabric is nice, airy and lightweight and withstood light drizzles when I was out and about. I didn't test it when it poured, but I would say that this served its purpose whenever I got caught in a light shower.

Overall, I would highly recommend this product if you want something nice and affordable!

Unanswered Question

How well does it protect from heavy rain?

Great lightweight jacket!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This jacket is terrific for a day when the breeze makes it just too cool for short sleeves. Don't plan to wear a sweater or sweatshirt under it though. The arms are just a little tight for my liking.

Unanswered Question

Does it adjust at the hood-with a string or elastic?
Also-how wide is it across the hem? I find coats are often too snug across the hips.

Omni-Tech

I like it But.....

It fits true to size for me and the torso does not seem too long in my opinion. You want a rain jacket to be a little long. It works well for rain and is light weight. My main concern with it is..... The shiny fabric and the swishy noise it makes.
