Chaco Z/2 Classic Sandal - Women's
ChacoZ/2 Classic Sandal - Women's

Catering to outdoor enthusiasts with its rugged durability and secure-fitting straps, the Chaco Women's Z/2 Classic Sandal is an outstanding choice for everyday adventures, rigorous hikes, and extended float trips. Its refreshingly simple design uses eight components for a timeless aesthetic and reliability in demanding terrain. Pull-through adjustable webbing straps provide a fine-tuned fit. The trusty ladder lock buckle keeps the straps from migrating or loosening up as you walk long distances.

Ready for river runs and trips to the beach, the Z/2's textured footbed prevents your foot from sliding around once it's wet. The antimicrobial treatment prevents the buildup of funky microbes for extra freshness. Plus, the LUVSEAT midsole cushions your every step with its ergonomic, women-specific design. And because it's suited for adventurous wear, the ChacoGrip rubber sole features 3mm lugs for aggressive traction across marine and terrestrial environments.

  • Pull-through adjustable webbing straps with toe loop
  • Injection-molded ladder lock buckle

Durable and Stylish

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It took a bit of adjusting and resizing to get them situated but now they are a much better fit. I still have trouble from time to time when the straps slip but I’ll readjust and then go kick around some pebbles in the closest stream to lock them in place and ill be good until the next time I catch a strap on something and yank it loose! Overall, I like the simplicity, durability and functionality.

Can't go wrong with Chacos!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am addicted to Chacos! These are my 6th pair- They last forever but I just can't get enough of them! They are comfortable, durable and just straight up THE BEST! I have terrible feet and ankles (I broke one a year ago) so I NEED supportive and stable shoes! These fit the bill to a T. I like the classic black but the designs are fun to accent outfits etc. If you have any questions- JUST GET THEM! You won't regret it. They fit great and have amazing arches. I wear them everywhere. A++++++++

So Practical and So Stylin'!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my chacos I have them in wicker mandarin and they are so cute! They are so practical I wear them from spring to fall (sometimes even in winter with socks). THey are great for literally everything hiking, rafting, a day at the crag, casual wear. They are so comfy! The only thing that was a little confusing was the adjustment system, but now that it makes sense I'm such a fan!

They're a lot to get used to

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is my first pair of Chacos and I wasn't sure what to expect. The color and design of the strap are so vibrant and versatile and the shoe sole is very comfortable. The strap has taken some time to get used to and I wasn't expecting it to be all one strap so you just to kind of work for it, which is fine but can be somewhat frustrating if you're in a rush.

They Take Some Breaking in

These Chacos are great. I got them in a size 6, even though i'm a 6.5, I have a narrow foot and they fit me perfectly. The only issue is the back heel strap, which is loose, non-adjustable and doesn't touch my little baby heel. However, the toe strap balances the heel issue out, so I still have stability in the shoe. Mine still have some breaking in to do, Iv'e worn them a few times to the dog park, and made the mistake of wearing them hiking. The soles of my feet got thrashed, so I won't be doing that again until Iv'e worn them a bit more. Other than that, they are super cute!

Comfortable and Durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my second pair of Chaco sandals. After many years and miles, I completely wore out the old ones. I've only worn the new ones a handful of times so far, but the quality and fit are just like the old ones and I couldn't be happier. The broad straps are comfortable and provide the support I was looking for. Can't wait for warmer weather, so I can wear them every day!

Thank you for the review! Glad you love them :)

Classic Chaco

I got these as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves them, like most people that are diehard chaco fans they are her go to footwear choice from spring to fall. Hiking, approaching climbs, water sport use, and daily wear are all perfect for the Chaco. Reason for 4 out of 5 is they switched from Vibram soles, and durability seems to not be quite as good.

Gotta love Chacos!

This is my second pair of Chacos and I'm in love! They are so incredibly comfortable and supportive. I wear them everywhere, all day, and my feet never hurt! Most recently, I wore them during my entire trip through Vietnam and they were perfect for hot days. I can't recommend them enough!

Gotta love Chacos!

I'm stoked these worked for your Vietnam trek. And you didn't even break them in first! Thanks for the photo and review, Emmy.

As the title suggests, I love Chacos! They're super comfortable and perfect for any occasion during any season! You heard that right... I've worn my chac's in winter before....
The best part of chaco's are the adjustable straps. You can basically mold this shoe to your foot by adjusting the straps (there's a handy guide that comes with the shoes)
I also really like the arch support in this shoe. I have a slight arch and that's exactly what this shoe has as well. It's not putting too much pressure on my arches where it hurts and I'm not walking on a flat surface either.
These are great shoes for hiking, rafting, climbing (approach), boating, camping, or anything casual. They dry and clean quickly which is a definite plus!
The only reason I voted 4 stars rather than 5 is because Chaco's used to use Vibram soles which is an aggressive rubber that's super grippy! The rubber soles that they have on the shoes now are still good, but they don't handle any aggressive terrain very well.
I still bought a pair though, because I still believe they're better than other sandals on the market.

Best Sandals

I love my new chacos! These are my second pair and they fit perfectly. These sandals are perfect for hiking in all sorts of terrain: sand, mud, grass, water, etc. I recommend chacos to all of my friends and wear them all the time. By far my favorite brands of shoes!

So good we got a 2nd pair.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Size Bought: 6.0

Purchased these for a friend's child over a year ago. After talking with them to see how they were working out they said that they liked the quality and fit so much they bought a second pair.

    My go to shoes

These shoes are absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend these to friends, family, coworkers, or anyone who will listen to me rave about my weird, chunky sandals. I have hiked, lounged, scrambled, waded, rock jumped, and everything under the moon in these babies and they have held up through it all.

My only complaint is that they do seem to already have some very minor fraying, nothing to bad. Also, I would not recommend the toe strap if you have a very large bunion, it can add some uncomfortable pressure after a few hours of wear.

    My go to shoes

    Sizing was off for me..

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small

Purchased these for a lady friend of mine and wanted to share the sizing issue we had with her purchase. We purchased for her originally, these in a 9.0 and they didn't fit right, being too small. She can really wear anywhere between a 9.0, 9.5 or 10.0 depending on the brand of shoe. Trying these on in a 9.0, her right foot, which is a little larger than her left they didn't quite work even with some strap adjustments. Being so in between we ended up getting her a Men's 8.0. Reading the reviews that say 'IF YOU'RE IN BETWEEN SIZES TO GO DOWN A SIZE' but we didn't feel that was right. Going up a size was the right way to go, especially giving your feet room to move. When hiking or wearing for long periods of time incline/decline your feet will swell and that extra space is needed. If you get something smaller you'll be hanging off the lip of the shoe and the straps becoming too tight, etc. As far as the Men's 8.0 it worked better for both her feet and wasn't to wide.

These are great sandals to wear anywhere and are versatile for just about anything as you'll read in the other reviews. Let us know if you need any help if you find yourself between sizes.

    Sizing was off for me..

    Comfortable and great for lakes.

    Perfect Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Women's Size 10

I bought these shoes in either 2010 or 2011, and I have been wearing them for about a third of the year every year since I bought them. Just this summer did I notice that they were beginning to show wear. These shoes have been the most reliable and comfortable shoes I have ever owned, and I have definitely worn the heck out of them in a number of situations: hiking, swimming, kayaking, traveling, and just normal everyday wear. I will recommend them until the day I die. So worth the money and the tan.

    Perfect Shoe

So glad you're stoked, Alyssa! Thanks for posting this review and photo.

    Stable & Practical

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 6.5

Sort version: I like these shoes but if ordering again I would choose the Z/1 models without the toe straps

I feel as solid in these as a decent sneaker. A great option for outdoor activities where you want the stability of a shoe with the freedom of a sandal. While they may be a bit lacking in the fashion category (great for campsites but probably not your best Friday night look) there is no denying the practicality. I didn't order in time but they would have been perfect for my Lost Coast, CA beach backpacking trip.

Compared to the photos I found the heel to be chunkier than expected. I bought the Pixel Weave pattern and it appears more blue in person.

    Two small drawbacks

-Despite coming with very detailed info on how to adjust the strap length/fit I had a tough time pulling the straps as described in the instructions. Seems like you inly need to do this once so not a deal breaker but do not throw away the instructions before getting them fit to your feet!

-I have slight bunions on my big toe ball joint and found the toe straps would not lie flat on my foot at these spots.

    Stable & Practical

    Cant go Wrong

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a pair of Chaco, and now so does my sister. I picked her up a pair after graduation school for all her endeavors that the outdoors may throw at her.

You really can't go wrong with chacos for camping, light hiking, rafting use, or general swimming. They are durable, stylish and are comfy. She is no longer a typical sandal wearer but now a sandal wearer ready for the outdoors.

    Best pair yet!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been searching for a new pair of Chacos for some time, and I picked the Florist ones. They're super cute, incredibly comfortable, and just right! I love them so much!

Are the tan lines worth it? Depends.

I love Chacos- they are an awesome, classic, versatile outdoor sandal! They are definitely comfortable, but it seems I found myself complaining more about them than the cool tan lines I was getting from the straps.....

I have really narrow feet, and sorry partners, but these are not made for a narrow foot- even with the adjustable straps. I wore them on a trip scampering around Europe, and while they were an easy water shoe and supported my arches... the BLISTERS were out of this world.. BREAK THESE IN. They're alright for hiking, but watch your toesies.

Overall, they're a pretty sweet sandal, but there are definitely some things to watch out for.

Size 9 street shoe, purchased size 9. Perfect length
