Chaco Z/1 Classic Sandal - Wide - Women's
ChacoZ/1 Classic Sandal - Wide - Women's

Tried and true.

If you've ever asked someone the details on how they met their spouse, you've most likely embarked upon a lengthy trip down Mushy Memory Lane. This same "an affair of the heart" logic applies to any adventure-loving trailblazer who has been asked to describe the first time they set their eyes on the Chaco Women's Z/1 Classic Sandal. Built to last a lifetime, these sandals are fashioned to carry you over rafts and rivers, through trails and sidewalks—without falter or fail.

Constructed specifically for women with a wider footbase, the Z/1 Classic Wide offers paramount support and performance with its textured polyurethane footbed that's crafted specifically to prevent your foot from sliding around, especially on those humid summer days. The antimicrobial footbed keeps the Z/1 pleasantly fresh after rigorous treks in stifling heat or throughout a multi-day raft trip down the Salmon River. Plus, the LuvSeat midsole cushions your every step with its ergonomic, women-specific design, while the ChacoGrip rubber sole features 3mm lugs that grip aggressively to prevent slipping.

Great Sandal

Seem to run a little big. Fit my daughter who normally wears an 8+. Great arch support and very comfortable for prolonged walking.

    The Ultimate Sandal

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have owned a pair of Z1 sandals for several years and they have held up extremely well. I wear them while hiking, roaming the desert, and when wet wading. If you want a sandal that is ideal for exploring slot canyons or floating rivers, this is it.

The straps hold your foot tight making them ideal for river trips or hiking. The soles offer tons of grip, even when slogging up muddy river banks or over wet rocks. The new LUVSEAT midsole offers more comfort than any midsole previously offered by Chaco. Now with a wide last, these are ideal for anyone who previously found the last too narrow.

After a trip to the desert, I finally convinced my girlfriend to pick up a pair of these sandals. Prior to the trip, her reply to anything Chaco was simply "I would never be caught dead in a pair of those sandals", now she wears them anytime she ventures away from civilization. The Z1 is the undisputed champion of the go anywhere exploration sandal. You won't regret owning a pair.

    Great water shoe

Seem to run a little big. Straps are adjustable and arches are low. Well made.

      Finally Wide Enough

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 7 wide

I love Chacos but in the past have made do with a size 8 (too narrow, too long). Glad to find these wide Chacos that fit like a dream and feel like walking on a freaking cloud. Never want to wear another shoe.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently bought these for the warmer weather seasons. So far I have only worn these around town and I adore them. The thing that I like most about these would be the amazing arch support. I do have wide feet so the extra room is great as well!!

Gives my feet what they need

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 6 Wide

I wasn't sure if a wide would make a difference for me. I took a chance. So far, so good. Still has the nice arch support, sturdy build, while letting me strap my foot in "snug" but giving them room to "take up space". I haven't had chafing problems. I wouldn't say I have super wide feet. Just like a little. Plus with my feet swelling when I get warm, which is most the time, these are great in allowing for that. I wear a 6 or 6.5 in shoes and found that sizing down to the 6, not 7 is what works for my feet. The 7's aren't bad per se, just a tad bit too large.
