Love my chacos!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought my first pair of chacos two years ago, and fell in love instantly! Over time, I still love them, but found I would be even happier, with the classic z style not having it go around my big toe. So the past year I’ve been searching for a style I really like, and I was so happy they released the national park edition! Not only am I buying a product I really love, but supporting our parks too! I liked the Rocky Mountain the best, but the women’s style went around the toe, so I purchased the men’s for preference of style. I sized down as everyone suggested, but I don’t suggest that.

Wow! arch support

Durable, comfortable, stylish. Lots of arch support unfortunately too much for me when it comes to standing on these babies for long periods of time since I have a relatively flat foot.

Great sandals and the National Park series is especially stylish. Chacos already have a killer reputation at this point and these are no different.

      First pair

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 9

This is my first time buying Chacos and so far I have really enjoyed them. They are heavy as all Chacos are but I like the sturdy feel of them. They are great for walking all day long and the arch support keeps your feet comfortable. I love the Yellowstone design but you can't go wrong with either style. They do run big compared to other Chacos. I bought the size 9 and I generally buy 8.5 in most of my shoes.

      Yes, Yes, and yes

these are so sweet looking, comfortable, and stylish, if you are thinking about getting them just do it and don't think about it just do it.

Z-1 Changes, Verdict is Still Out

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: Runs large

So I just got these, after my 5 year old pair with over 1,000 days of use practically disintegrated. Chaco has clearly made some updates/changes to the Z-1, which I prefer to having a toe strap, and I'm not sure I love them.

The strap feels a bit softer, which is nice. However, there just appears to be more material, i.e. a longer strap in total. So, after adjustments have been made and the sandal is tightened, the black tightening strap seems too long and flops around some. I could cut it, singe it, and tack it back, but it hasn't annoyed me too much just yet, and I'm hopeful that some wear and use may somehow shrink the material.

The sole is also different, no longer Vibram and now proprietary Chaco. No opinion on this yet, just a difference I've noted. We'll see if the Chaco soles compare to Vibram, but that would be a surprise since Vibram has been making soles for 80 years and I imagine you learn a thing or two in that time.

So maybe I'm being picky, or maybe I just don't remember the break-in period for my prior pair... but I was super stoked to get my new kicks on, and was initially disappointed by the floppy tightening strap.

As per typical Chaco sizing, I sized down and the fit is good. I wear 9-10.5 depending on the brand, and just swim in size 10 Chacos, while the 9 fits just right.

Will update if an update is needed...
