Velocissimo 2 Limited Edition Full-Zip Jersey

Shorter days call for longer sleeves as the median temp hovers in the high 50s. These are the days for which Castelli developed the Velocissimo 2 Limited Edition Full-Zip Jersey. An ideal blend of warmth, coverage, and breathability make the Velocissimo 2 an ideal top for fall or spring riding.

Constructed from Castelli's Warmer fabric, the Velocissimo Jersey's great by itself, or layered for added cool-weather comfort. This synthetic textile features a fleecy inside for next-to-skin comfort, wicking performance, and thermal insulation. The Warmer fabric is also stretchy to allow ample movement, and it has a smooth face to help reduce drag.

The synthetic Warmer fabric possesses excellent wicking properties transporting perspiration quickly and evenly to the surface for efficient evaporation. This ensures your core stays dry, preventing clamminess if it's chilly or saving you from overheating if the mercury climbs.

Enabling the Velocissimo's technical properties is a body-contouring shape that packs decades of custom-tailored cycling apparel under its belt. Castelli knows a thing or two about fit and has defined modern cycling wear with many firsts, including Lycra shorts. An example of Castelli's innovation in the Velocissimo is the sleeves as they're articulated forward.

This allows for maximum body contact without binding, wrinkles, or excess material when settled into the natural riding position. Not only does this ensure excellent aerodynamics, but it also permits the Velocissimo to utilize the optimized fabric to its fullest potential. Out of the box, the Velocissimo will fit tight against the chest and feel unnatural when prepping for a ride, but once seated and spinning its superior design comes to light.

Adding to that design is a full-length YKK Vislon zipper that allows ventilation fine-tuning that won't migrate when pedaling. The Velocissimo's lower hem has a wide silicon gripper to prevent riding up, and the three rear pockets are secure and easy to reach when riding. Castelli's Long-Sleeve Velocissimo has a full complement of reflective elements for low-light safety, and it's available in Forest Gray/Orange, Black/Red, Anthracite/Red, and Dark Infinity Blue/Red with sizes ranging from Small through to 3X-Large.

  • A jersey for cooler temp spring and fall days
  • Form-fitting cut is more jersey and less jacket
  • 3 rear pockets haul food, extra layers, and tubes
  • Stretchy side panels breathe and allow excellent movement
  • Reflective details improve visibility in low light
  • The jersey is ideal for temps in the low to high-50s

Runs small, but great Jersey!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

5',9.5" Chest just < 39" & 31-32" Waist. Joe average, I guess. Medium was race-tight which is fine for shorts but I don't like it for tops especially for long sleeve jersey as there was NO WAY I could wear any kind of base layer. The large fits super comfy and then so versatile -- I can wear a thin base layer and then the jersey is good even for upper 40's-low 50's, and w/o base, very comfy into low 60's -- for several hours. Holding up great thus far after ~1/2 dozen washes/line-dry.

Does run small

I love it and encourage to lose flubber but all in all a nice Jersey

Comfortable and Real Cozy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Very comfy without restriction of movement. Hugs your body with warmth on 50s & mid 60s but not overheating. No flapping. With base layer, I can wear this on mid 40s weather. I will buy another one.

Perfect for the purpose

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XXL

I needed a warmer long-sleeve jersey that I had. This one looked like what I needed, so I ordered it. I've been very pleased with it, and have worn it several times already. It's just right for the in-between days when it's too warm for a jacket, but too cool for a short-sleeve shirt, even a heavier one. It fits very well; the sleeves are long enough--a big issue for me, due to my 37" sleevelength. Well-made. Very useful. Very happy with the purchase.

Great Piece

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Castelli gets another win. Love this piece during Fall/Spring, or mountain biking the Wasatch during summer AM chills. Cut is perfect (get your sizing right first -- they do run small) save for the long sleeves, and no one can beat Castelli for quality and cycling-specific gear. I'd call this a medium weight and good down to the mid 40s before breaking out a jacket (like their Alpha RoS). Also used this underneath the Alpha Jacket in the 30s and all good.

Great jersey

Exactly what a mud eight jersey should be. Perfect cut and fit, warmw ithout being too hot. Great for a warmer winter day or cooler spring day. Layers well under a wind or water proof layer.

Great mid-weight Jersey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

I love Castelli gear once you get the sizing correct. This jersey is very lightweight yet still resists the cold and wind well. I've used it on upper-40's days to upper-50's and it's great with no baselayer. The first time I was really hesitant because it felt so light that I was afraid I'd be too cold, but I was wrong. The colors are a great compliment to my frame as well, so you can't really go wrong with that.

Wear it all the time

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Lg

This is my winter jersey. I pair this jersey with a wool undershirt and a wind-stopper vest. I also wear arm warmers. This jersey is a mid to heavy weight jersey. It is not a jacket.

I purchased size large since i wear under-gear. I like the fit. I normally wear medium ss jerseys.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
