Too Small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Excellent product for a very small rider. I typically wear a Medium. Exchanged for a Large. Still too small. Exchanged for an X-Large. Still too small.

Race Fit and Super Versatile

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought this for fall MTB racing in Michigan. I am 5'-8" and weigh 150 pounds. I have an athletic build (I buy slim-fit shirts). The size Medium fits me perfectly. In fact, it actually fits me like the pictures shown on the web site. I was stuggling to find a long-sleeve jersey or jacket that did not have sleeves that flapped in the wind. This fits snuggly, but does not constrict. It's perfect for racing. The sleeves are easy to remove. A recent training ride started out in the mid 40's (F) and was in the upper 60's by the end of the ride. I stopped, unzipped the sleeves, and put them in the rear jacket pocket in less than a minute. If I wasn't on single track, I probably could have done it without stopping. I like the larger two-pocket system on this jacket better than the smaller three-pocket style. I'm often wearing gloves and I can get to things easier with the larger pockets. This jacket is a longer than some other Castelli products I have used. This is good because I don't have to contort my arm to reach for pockets that are too high on my back. For me, a long sleeve base layer under this jacket (with gloves, tights and skull cap) takes this into the 30's. Unzip the sleeves and open the vents and this can be worn to nearly 70. I have ridden it in light rain and (so far) it beads up and rolls off. While not waterproof, it is able to take the unpredictable Michigan weather better than anything else I have tried. This is a truly versatile jacket. BTW, I bought the orange. It's blaze orange - perfect for riding the country roads during the many hunting seasons in Michigan.

Awesome jacket for variable weather

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Jacket is great for those rides that start out really cold and slowly warm up. I wear large Castelli race jerseys and had to size up to XL to be comfortable in the shoulders and arms. Great jacket and highly recommend!

As noted runs VERY SMALL

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Hard to give a Star Rating for a product I won't be able to use. :( I wear SMALL jerseys/jackets but based on the "runs small" reviews, I ordered a MEDIUM with the size chart measurements being about spot on or a bit larger than my actual measurements. Much to my dismay, the jacket was tight fitting, especially under the armpits so I am returning it. Unsure whether I should go with a LARGE or XLARGE but don't want to waste any more money returning items that don't fit properly. This jacket is made in Moldova.

Armpits too tight

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I have an older model Perfetto Ros that I love. I wear it all the time. But the newer model in the same size is too tight in the armpits. So much so that my pits feel sore and tender after wearing the jacket. It's a pitty b/c the fit and performance of this jacket is otherwise flawless.

Love it

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Live in higher altitude SW, and gets down to mid 30's consistently. Also, I used the size chart and bought XL for my 41" chest and fits fine. So, started out with the Gaba last February, which is great for our cooler weather along with warmers. Wanted another in the line up, so went with Perfetto convertible that I can use with long sleeve base layer. Love them both! Was in a downpour in the Gaba, stayed nice and dry, so expect the same from Perfetto. Some of the features I really like are the collar height, side vents, taped seams, zipper doesn't get cold and the brushed material inside (have ridden without base layer). Saddleback TV has a review of Perfetto and Gaba. Great for long rides with temp swings 30's - 50's.

Brilliant, Sizing runs small

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is a super versatile outer layer. I use it for road and gravel. The convertible sleeves really extend the usable temperature range. The fabric breaths very well and the zippered vents allow you to tune the warmth level to the conditions. The fit is very "aero" and close to the body. Purchasing by the size chart, I bought a XL and it was sprayed on, no room for anything but a thin base layer underneath. Exchanging for an XXL got a me extra room without being baggy. The general quality and workmanship is truly excellent. The pockets are very easy to use while rolling. My only gripe is the lack of a zippered phone pocket. Regardless, this will be my go-to shell winter.

For us big guys the jacket is a non-starter. I couldn't even get my arm in it.

Must have for big temp swings

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Finally able to use this yesterday- ride started at 45F and ended around 70F with full sun. Wore it as Jersey with long sleeves removed, used light arm warmers, and just a pro mesh sleeveless base underneath. Chilly start but quickly warmed up on some single track , then transitioned to backwoods gravel roads with hills. After some climbing I prepared for that first shock of cold air on a fast decent , but this jersey blocked it and I was comfortable throughout the ride. I went up and down with zipper to regulate heat/ cold as needed, and it was close to 70 when ride was over, but I was still comfortable the whole time, did not feel slimy and wet like you would expect. The Jersey does not breathe exceptionally well, but base layer did its job and kept most of the wetness off me- this was the best setup I have used for big temp changes during a ride with lots of climb. Fit is usual castelli, I'm 5'8 at about 182lbs with a slight 'dad bod' midsection and went up to a xxl so I could have a little extra room and not feel like a 'tater wrap- it fits comfortably without too much shoulder looseness and room for a baselayer under. If I did not crush large pizzas by myself every Friday and had flat abs, going down to an xl would probably be a perfect form fit.

Converted by the Convertible

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Need a jacket for the shoulder seasons? This jacket has you covered. Need a warm jersey for the days that it's just too warm to hide your arms in a jacket but too cold to use your summer jersey? This jacket has you covered. What about those days when the ride starts cold but gets progressively warmer? This jacket has you covered! The thing I love most about this jacket is the versatility that it gives me to ride in so many different conditions. I'm not afraid to take it out in a bit of rain or some chilly wind. The RoS (Rain or Shine) tech they have in it makes it ideal to ride in almost any weather if you have the right layers to go with it. I found that for me, this jacket was ideal with just a baselayer in the 45-55" range with the sleeves on. I could probably wear it up to maybe 60-65° if I needed to without the sleeves, although it hasn't been warm enough to try that yet. I personally got the Savile Blue and went up to an XL for sizing. I'm about 5'9 and 175 lbs. I prefer my jackets to not be skin tight like my summer jerseys, but I could probably have fit an L just fine on this one. I like the XL for myself though. It feels like the right size. The pockets on this jacket are well sized and allow for you to carry any other cold weather gear you might need for your rides to allow you to ride longer in various kinds of weather. The jacket looks super slick and overall is probably the jacket I reach for most frequently these days. I like that Castelli has built in subtle reflective components to the jacket without making it look or feel like a traffic sign. In short& you feel fast wearing this jacket.
