Mortirolo VI Jacket

As an alternative to their Prologo jacket, Castelli’s Mortirolo VI Jacket offers a more subdued graphic pattern and limited branding. Using Gore-Tex’s Infinium Windstopper fabric on the main-body, the jacket is highly wind-resistant to cold winds on spring and fall training rides. The Warmer fabric on the back keeps you insulated while allowing moisture and excess heat to leave when the pace picks up or when you hit a slow-speed tempo climb. At 377 grams for the large, it’s also 35 grams lighter than the Prologo, although it’s rated for the same comfort at 43-57 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Cold weather cycling jacket with minimal logos
  • Gore-Tex Infinium Windstopper blocks out oncoming cold air
  • Back paneling allows for heat loss and moisture escape
  • High-neck supports a gaiter or cycling scarf to keep out wintry winds
  • Traditional three rear pockets and reflective paneling complete the style

My friends all call me an animal

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

I train all year round even in harsh weather. In order to ride in the rain at near freezing conditions (other than having no life other than cycling) you need the best clothing. I bought this Castelli Jacket with GoreTex and immediately rode it in light rain on a near freezing day. The water beaded up and ran off and it breathed quite well. Every time the wind blew I could feel just enough to pipe off a bit of heat that was building up. I was out riding hill repeats on a very steep section of road so usually its hard to be comfortable with a clothing choice but I felt great in this jacket!. Its not cheap but it is stylish as you would expect from an Italian brand and very functional. I’m 6’0” tall and weight 175 (I know that’s heavy for a hill climber but what’s worse being dropped by a big hill climber or being one?) and I fit the XL since Castelli can run a bit on the small side.
