Why We Like The Competizione Limited Edition Bib Short

With the Competizione Bib Shorts, pro-level Castelli quality need not come at a pro-level price tag. The Competizione features much of the same technology as their higher-end offerings, like a KISS Air2 insert and Giro4 leg grippers, making it comfortable for long and short rides alike. The main panels use Castelli’s Vortex fabric for optimal breathability and comfort, while the bibs are a more open mesh to ventilate well beneath a jersey. Castelli uses a tighter Lycra for better compression, stretch, and rebound, where there’s more movement when pedaling. The KISS Air2 insert’s perforated padding and seamless upper keeps cool air moving through the short to ensure your comfort on the bike.

Poor fit

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Buying bibs that fit well is tough. I am 155lbs & 5'11", skinny runner build. Med is too short, but Lrg is too loose at the leg grippers. It is a great bib otherwise.

Fits very small in height

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Good quality bib with secure padding in the right places, but I’m pretty average height at 5’8” and the size L barely fits me. It has more than enough room around the middle, but the length of the suspender part is much too short. Be sure and order at least one size up, or two if you have a longer torso.

Great fit, gripper doesn't grip well

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The fit, comfort and aesthetics are nice. However the gripper doesn't grip very well so its not long till i look like i'm wearing short shorts and they're bunching up.

ripped at the seams after 1st wear

Maybe I received a defective item. There was a loose thread at the seams when I received it, but I ignored it. After the first wear, it ripped at the seams, where the loose thread was. So I am assuming it was faulty from the beginning. Very disappointed.

Comfy bibs, but small

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

the bibs run 2 sizes small... i normally get a medium, but i could barely get into the large and the straps were digging into my shoulders. the XL fit much better and i didn't look or feel like a sausage. i'll update this after i put a few hundred miles on them UPDATE: it's been a couple of hundred miles... i love these bibs. they are super comfy and i would totally get them again, but the suspenders will dig in a little if you don't pull them up enough. it's a small thing (ha!). i woulddefinitely get these again.

Great bibs, but run 2 sizes small

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Really comfortable bibs for 2-4 hour rides. The thigh grips stay in place and are comfy. Shoulder straps are supportive, if delicate. Wash gently in cold water with limited detergent and hang dry to get the longest life. Size up 2x over what you normally wear. I had to get an XL, which gave me a bit of a complex. :-)

Solid kit

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

It does run very small but once to get the right size it?s very comfortable. I?ve worn it on a few 40+ mile rides and love it.

Runs too small

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I read reviews that said to order up a size, so I did. I would say that ideally I should have ordered a XXL which is ridiculous. I?ll keep the XLs, but I can already tell that these won?t be my go to bibs for a long ride. Tight in the groin area and the shoulder straps dig in. My Pearl Izumis and Garneau are definitely more comfortable. The only thing I can say is they do look nice and I like the feel of the padding.

Great but small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Amazing quality and color. The material is high end and the chamois sits where it needs to be. The grip around the leg is fantastic. Unfortunately the fit is very small. I?m 5?8 170lb got size L. The compression in the groin is too much. Also could barely put the straps over my shoulders. Go one or two sized bigger.
