CastelliAero Race 5.0 Full-Zip Jersey - Short Sleeve - Men's

Aero is an understatement.

As the most aerodynamic jersey to ever sport the iconic red scorpion, the Castelli Men's Aero Race 5.0 Full-Zip Jersey saves a whopping 12 watts over the previous year's jersey. Its Velocity Dry fabric along the frontside is made of a tightly knit weave that's highly aerodynamic, quick-drying, and extremely low in weight. The back and shoulders make use of dimpled 3D fabric for enhanced moisture management and wicking properties. This quick-drying material allows you to wear this jersey in cool, in-between conditions, as moisture build-up is one of the key elements in robbing heat from your upper body.

A compression band bolsters three rear pockets, preventing bulging pockets and ride supplies from jostling around on rough roads. Other key features include a silicone gripper waist for a secure, stay-put fit, as well as a full-length zipper for extra ventilation on scorching-hot rides.

small

  • Fit: Runs small

the jersey is 12cm shorter than a de marchi XL - It fits my wife though... size zero

Aero fit, pockets for road races.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

UPDATE: I would say this is TRUE TO SIZE. If you wear MED Castelli race fit, get MED. Sizing up will work, but not as form fitting. Initially it will feel small, but it really is designed to be like a skinsuit. Love the jersey, wish I got MED now but LG still fits pretty well. ***********I wear the normal race fit Castelli in Med. The Large Aero Race fits perfect. The rear pockets are made of a compressive material so they dont sag, really nicely designed. The sleeves are nice and long and it really is an aero fit. The design of the collar makes it wrinkle free at the neck and shoulders and overall, typical, great Castelli quality. If you want a perfect aero cut like the pros, you need to visit a tailor. Their gear is made to measure. Off the rack, this is pretty close. Face it if you're fat or have bitch tits, it's all going to show on this type of aero kit. I don't think I could wear this at off season weight unless I just gave up all my dignity. But, right now, it's rockin'. For the price, it's a steal.

Bummer

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I really wanted to like this jersey because it looks great and is well made, like many other Castelli pieces. The fit was just too strange though, definitely tight by several sizes as others have mentioned; very narrow through the torso compared to the length. I wasn't motivated to reorder in another size because even on sale it is not particularly cheap. There are other better fitting lightweight jerseys out there for less.

Tight, tight fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XXL

I own quite a few Castelli products and I'm used to buy them a size bigger.
This Aero Race 5.0 runs really small. I'm a Gap T-shirt size L guy and a Castelli XXL ( I like my shirts a little looser, then I have wide shoulders.... ). This Aero Race 5.0 shirt in XXL does not fit me and I gave it to a friend who normally wears Castelli size L and it just fits.
Anyhow great looking shirt, so slight regret that it doesn't fit.

Poor cut

  • Size Bought: Medium and Large

Jersey is cut way too long in the front such that it bunches when in the aero position and completely defeats the purpose of an aero jersey. Very disappointing. The open mesh back is probably great for thermal regulation but completely useless for a jersey unless you want to cover your back in sunscreen before every ride/race. The Rapha aero race jersey is a far superior cut and design.

Quality is good, sizing is not

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

  • Size Bought: L

I typically wear a large in other Castelli jerseys. This one is not the case. Even the XL was tight in the chest. I don't have a huge chest, 42" so I'm not sure why this cut is so small. It's a very nice summer jersey, just put sunscreen on your back. It's almost transparent.

Awesome race type jersey - size up!

This jersey has a mesh type liner and it looks pretty aero. Ordered XL and it was too tight all around. It bunched up in the front. I'm not XX am I? I plan on ordering again to get the right size
