Trail 6 delivers durable alloy handling and 9-speed simplicity for gravel and singletrack fun
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "The Trail 6 is a great intro to real trail riding. It’s got a comfy and tough alloy frame, and the Suntour fork takes the edge off roots and rocks. Shimano’s 9-speed drivetrain is simple but covers all the bases for hilly terrain. The Tektro hydraulic brakes are solid, too—not something you always see in this category."
We jumpstart trail stoke with the Cannondale Trail 6, a ready-for-anything hardtail that’s equally at home on beginner singletrack and gravel shortcuts. Cannondale built this one on a SmartForm C3 alloy frame with their proven SAVE micro-suspension tech, giving us a ride that’s surprisingly smooth and composed on choppy terrain.
Up front, the 100mm SR Suntour XCT fork takes the sting out of rocks and ruts, while a Shimano 9-speed drivetrain keeps shifting intuitive and broad enough for a mix of grades. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes offer real stopping power—a feature we love to see at this price point—and WTB tires wrapped around 29-inch wheels keep things rolling confidently whether we’re climbing fire roads or descending mellow flow.
The Trail 6 is also future-friendly, with internal cable routing, dropper post compatibility, and mounts for racks and kickstands. It’s a fun-first platform that’s built to grow with your skills.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning—and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.
