Camp ChefDeluxe 6-Quart Dutch Oven

Your camp stove wishes it could cook like this.

Modern pots and pans pale in comparison to the brawn of the Camp Chef Deluxe 6-Quart Dutch Oven. Drop crisp or cobbler ingredients inside this pre-seasoned dutch oven, load some coals on top of the reversible lid (which flips over for use as a skillet), and soon you'll have a dutch full of delectable vittles. For added convenience, Camp Chef threw in a lid lifter, so you can keep a close eye on your fruity concoction.

I got this to take camping but had to test it out first. I don't know a lot about these things but it worked really well. It seemed to cook evenly and it didn't take as long as I thought it would. I would recommend this.

For a dutch oven, this fits the bill. I bring it car camping to make stews with tons of veggies. I love the stick for pulling it out of the fire. Excellent product!

Best Way To Cook!

If you've never cooked with a dutch oven while car camping, give it a shot! Made some great stews in this dutch oven and also through some bisquits on top while cooking. It's all I'm bringing to cook with on our next trip.

    Love it

cheap, easy to use. comes with lever that makes taking the lid off easy. essential for car camping .

This a great size and really versatile. You can transition from dinner in the pot to breakfast on the skillet lid with ease. Really easy to move around, good for a small group. But I think this is less versatile than the next size up. It's great as a supplement to larger skillets if you're cooking for a crowd and great for dessert.

      Versatile, great quality

The design of this dutch oven is really clever, I love the lid doubling as a skillet. The included lid/pot lifter is great, just don't be as clumsy as me....we had coals on the lid and I managed to spill ashes all over dinner. But that's my fault, not the oven's! Great value for the price, you can't go wrong with seasoned cast iron.

A friend gave me the 6 quart Dutch Oven by Camp Chef as a Christmas gift this past year. Now I am by no means an ultralight backpacker, but when I was given this wonderful dutch oven I just didnt know when I would use it. My favorite type of camping is anything far far away from a trail head. I have however, as my father ages, embraced the weekend car camping trip. Which is where this dutch oven shines. It's well constructed and the foot pegs on the lid of this oven make it increasingly versatile (works wonderfully for whipping up flapjacks) Invest in a little dutch oven cookbook, and the sky is the limit. Biscuits, roasts, stews, cobblers the list goes on. When using cast iron you just feel transported to a simpler time. The disposable liners by Camp Chef also sold by Backcountry, while not essential.. do make clean up much easier.

Side note: Lodge MFG is currently the only pre seasoned cast iron produced in the United States.

I was sick of constantly using tinfoil and other cheap materials to make my food when car camping so I picked up a fancy dutch oven. My favorite thing to make in this bad boy is an egg scramble but you can literally make anything you want if you know what you're doing. Dispersing coals properly is key to even heating. If properly cared for, these will last a lifetime! Highly recommended!
