Burton Wylie Gore-Tex Parka - Women's

Stay Wyld.

Refusing to let weather dictate the course of your day, the Burton Women's Wylie Gore-Tex Parka is longer fitting and winter-proof to keep you dry in any condition. Thanks to its two-layer Gore-Tex construction and fully-taped seams with Gore-Seam, this jacket completely shuts out the worst weather old man winter might send your way yet still allows sweaty moisture to escape for unbelievably dry comfort.

Zonal-mapped Thermolite insulation provides you with furnace-like warmth when temperatures plummet, and the powder skirt does a solid job of defending against snow when you're getting after it on a pow day. The longer cut prevents you from getting the dreaded wet-butt after taking a breather on the side of the trail, and an adjustable hood and cuffs provide customizable protection depending on the weather. Oh, and not to mention, Burton equipped this parka with a luxurious faux fur-lined hood for added style and coziness from the resort to the streets.

Practically Perfect in Every Way

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: L

Every way but one.

I've been looking for a Gore-Tex jacket that was long, stylish and LONG for a few years now. When I saw this jacket I fell in love and ordered it.

What I loved:
The length - I'm 5'9" and this jacket comes to mid thigh on me. This is the perfect length in my opinion and hard to find. The sleeves came down to my knuckles which was also nice.

The styling. - I love that this doesn't look like your standard mountaineer's technical jacket. The clean lines and muted colors are gorgeous. I ordered the Keef Enzyme Wash which is much greener in person than it is in the photos. I loved it.

The insulation - At 80g I could still rock this jacket on warmer days because I run cold and it is roomy enough to allow for plenty of airflow should I so desire. It also leaves plenty of room for layering for the colder days.

The Fit - Initially I ordered an XL because I am mad about extra length in my jacket's sleeves and body. The 'regular fit' in an XL was way too big for me so I exchanged it for a L. Once I did that I was dialed! The cut is super flattering while still providing plenty of mobility. I loved the fishtail back and faux fur.

What I didn't love:
The Sleeves - More specifically the sleeve openings. This jacket has a VERY narrow sleeve opening with very tight inner wrist gaiters. It claims to have adjustable cuffs but they can only be made smaller, not larger like some of my jackets. This was a problem because I ride with wrist guards. I couldn't comfortably wear the guards under the gaiters as it was too tight and it was an entire production drying to pull the sleeve opening down over my gloves once I had my guards and gloves on over the gaiters. I could only fit my wrist guards and thinnest pipe gloves. This was a deal breaker for me.

Burton - if you read this ADD A ZIPPER TO THE SLEEVES AND I WILL BUY THIS JACKET AGAIN. I mean, its a 500 dollar jacket - what can two short zippers hurt? Also, I loved everything else about it and really really wanted it to be The One.
