The anti-limp device

You only need to bruise your knee or chip your patella once before you understand the use of the Burton Men's Basic Knee Pad. This easy, slip-on design is a simple solution for a simple problem:  pain. Low-profile, thin EVA knee pads lie smoothly under your snow pants and other layers. These knee pads will pay for themselves after one wipeout.

Basic Knee Protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These pads are pretty simple. A spandex based wrap with a thin pad around the knee. They are fairly tight and protective from my experience. I wear knee pads mostly for warmth and structure and these do the job for the most part and are a lot of value for the price. Before these i was using downhill biking knee pads which seem to be more developed and have more options. Typically i like just a sleeve. If you want something a bit more protective or something a bit more minimal for warmth you may want to check out Troy Lee pads or some of the other brands we have in our pads or knee protection section.

Do not protect knee from falling on box

I sprain my left knee terribly after falling on a box in a park while wearing these. They gave you the false idea that your knee was being protected. Get something more tangible if you wanna practice in a park; otherwise, you’ll risk not being able to snowboard for the rest of the season after injury.

    ok

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

got this for a friend who was doing a musical that required knee pads for dancing, definitely tighter than expected and it was too thick to wear under pants, not the best choice

    Unanswered Question

Is the price a pair of them?

    A Little Constricting, but Necessary

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a great all around knee pad for trying out a new activity. They are little tight and can restrict some motion, but at least they stay in place and get the job done when it comes to taking a fall or two. Not too stiff overall. I would recommend for any beginner snowboarders, mountain bikers, etc.

    Good investment

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm 5'5" and an athletic 130lb, size S fit perfectly.
Used these skiing and felt like they kept the knees lined up. Definitely helped prevent some bruises.

    Low profile, works under pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Giftee got this and uses under pants when he works to protect formerly dislocated knee (ouch) ....They work well for this use.

    Cool and useful

      Comfortable,a cool stuff

      AWESOMENESS once again from Burton!!!!!!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Low-profile so I can still wear stylish cut pants. Great padding. Easy pull on and full movement. Who cares if I land on those knees now? THANKS Burton!

      Takes the bite out

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are very slim and pliable. They fit great under your snow pants. They're not going to take a grenade for you but they sure help with those little bumps and tumbles in the park or even when getting up throughout the day. Burton's website doesn't even offer a size guide but generally you'll measure the circumference 4" above your knee center and 4" below. If it helps at all I measure 18.5" top and 15.5" below center and the large was a little big. I would probably have purchased a medium for more of a snug fit depending on what you are wearing underneath. If you are looking for something more burly I would go elsewhere but for general riding use I would recommend them for the price. Demon makes a pretty sweet flexible option you can see via the link below.
