Black Diamond Spark Mitten

It isn't as simple as it seems.

The Black Diamond Spark is a simple ski mitten with highly innovative features like the BDry waterproof insert and PrimaLoft's Gold insulation. Gold synthetic insulation provides the same superior softness you look for in down insulation, and it's also packable, breathable, and water-resistant for extra protection. The goat leather shell keeps the Spark strong, and the brushed tricot lining has individual fingers for extra dexterity.

Super good

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a man on a mission to find and abuse cheap (<$60) gloves. They should be able to scrape skis, wipe snow and ice off goggles, chop wood, uphill, and downhill, all while keeping my hands warm.

These Black Diamond gloves do it all, and can take a beating. I've climbed 3500 feet and not had my hands overheat. Conversely, I can sit on a chairlift all day in resort, on the easy, and still stay warm. They dry out quickly overnight after a PNW rainy ski day. They are kick-ass and you should probably just buy two pairs right now. I've beat the crap out of at least 5 pairs of gloves with my patented glove-abuse system, and these ones have come out the other end in stellar shape.

    Love these!

Great glove. Used them for a few weeks. Not as warm as the heater mitteba. Finger separation inside the mitten is nice but takes some getting used to. Added Nik wax to make them water proof.

I am a skier and have terrible circulation in my hands. Therefore...My hands get cold!! I bought these mits after reading the other reviews, they seemed pretty good. They Are!! They are fairly warm and I REALLY like the individual finger spacers, I didn't think that they would be nice but they are and I really enjoy having them in the mittens. I would defiantly recommend these to anyone!!

We all know that mittens are the bee's knees on the mountain. You can flip the birdie to your boss and nobody is the wiser. 'Mitten' rhymes with 'kitten'.

Black Diamond is doing it right with their take on the goat leather. Look at the suggested mittens this page brings up, see anything as attractive as these under $100 bucks? nope. Price point makes these a steal, second to the actual construction of these mitts. no shitty cinch around your wrist, hefty velcro with a neoprene cuff. The warmth these provide are off the charts, I was taking them off in 20 degree(F) days.

They do not come with wrist cords, so have grannie knit you some over the holidays.

I bought these for my ski outings and am very pleased. The inside finger liner keeps my fingers toasty warm!

      Very warm

Live in Breckenfridge and these are borderline too warm in temps above 15*F.

      I want some

I bought these as a present and I tried them on before they got all wrapped, as one does and Wow instantly I thought hmm... I should just keep these for myself. Thats they are quite thin but you could tell they would be crazy warm and the lining on the inside is just a dream for sure the most comfortable mitten or glove I have ever slipped on.
