Down and Gore, together at last.
The Black Diamond Women's Mission Parka features an uncanny combination of down insulation and Gore-Tex's ever-reliable weather protection for skiing through powder, cold smoke, and especially windy weather. Gore-Tex rarely mixes with down insulation because its membrane used to be too waterproof and not breathable enough to retain the down's lofty warmth. The new Gore Thermium enhances breathability to keep the jacket's down insulation lofty, and it maintains high levels of water-resistance—with fully taped seams for added defense—to shed spray and snowflakes. Gore Thermium is also remarkably windproof to eliminate the chill you feel following a brisk breeze. This parka's Primaloft Gold Down includes some synthetic insulation for bolstered defense against wet weather, and its down insulation has a hydrophobic treatment to maintain warmth even if the parka gets damp somehow.

- Q & A
So light and warm
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: S
I love this jacket. I've been skiing pretty much my entire life and I have never owned a very insulated jacket. I typically prefer light to no insulation on the outside of my jacket and then I layer for warmth.
This jacket is like a hybrid puffy or something. When I first got it I didn't expect it to be so warm. I've taken it skiing, camping, grocery shopping and it really is just a great all around jacket.
I'm about 5'2 and 100 pounds and I went with a size small since I prefer to layer up in my outerwear.
I have this, a shell jacket and a softshell jacket to always have all of my bases covered.
