Black Diamond Deployment Hybrid Jacket - Men's

Kiss layering changes goodbye.

Simplicity and versatility are awesome when you're in the midst of a serious undertaking, and Black Diamond's Deployment Hybrid Men's Jacket is taking the one piece, many uses concept to the next level. A warm and breathable jacket designed for stop-start activities, the Deployment is made primarily of highly breathable and stretch-woven Schoeller fabric that's been treated with a NanoSphere DWR treatment to repel water, dirt, and stains. At the cuffs, under the arms, and at the back, Black Diamond used a blend of nylon and merino wool to increase breathability and improve temperature regulation, so you don't have to stop and re-layer every time your output levels change. It also lined the Deployment with moisture-wicking and breathable mesh, and filled it with light PrimaLoft Silver Hi-Loft insulation to provide an extra shot of insulation that won't cause you to overheat.

Very stretchy on the bottom and has no hem cord. Hangs on you and moves around. Maybe okay as an insulation layer. I promptly returned the jacket.

Does most things well, good value

If you're on the fence about sizing, go up. It's a snug fit that may be a bit tight for a bulky underlayer. The interior is lined with a wool blend that is very warm and comfortable against bare skin unlike polyester/synthetics.

Insulation is placed strategically in the areas that need it most, so this hybrid jacket is warmer than it looks. It has two zip hand pockets and one chest pocket.

To make this a perfect 5, it needed at least a couple more internal zipped pockets and some reflectivity. Still highly recommend this, beware of smallish sizing.
