From ski pole to avalanche probe in seconds.

Made from a strong, stiff, and durable aluminum, the Black Diamond Boundary Probe Ski Pole is a reliable freeride pole that possesses the ability to transform into a backup avalanche probe, making it perfect for both cruising groomers and crushing big-mountain lines. The grip is made from a grippy, dual-density rubber, and has an aggressive hooking point for leveraging bars and buckles while the strap is designed for easy access, and has lengthened pull tabs that open and distribute weight evenly across your hand. The FlickLock Pro locking mechanism's low-profile, stainless steel design makes it secure, fast, and easy to adjust lengths, while providing a high-quality clamping force. When studying the snow or responding to an avalanche, screw the two lower shafts together to form a 182cm backup probe on the spot.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super rad poles with a cool color to show everyone your the best skiier on the mountain. the flicklock is annoying sometimes if you're like me and somehow randomly unlock it then lost the bottom of your pole on the way down. Probe feature is cool if you're in a pinch, but don't use it as a substitute to a full size probe.

    A solid pole

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The probe feature is neat, though should not be your sole probe. The color is very bright purple. But other than that these things are solid, the flicklock is bomber as anything I ever had for a pole lock. Love it.

    Great Poles

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The poles are sturdy and lightweight. As an FYI, the Nightshade color is more of a purple rather than a black. The flicklock feature is easy to use with gloves or mittens on. Great buy!

    deceptive color but great pole

At first glance they kind of look black but these are a rad purple and a killer colapsable pole i would suggest them!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Seriously, solid pole and decent basket design. Flicklock is really 'all that' that every review mentions. Probe works in a jam... nice to know you have an option within immediate grasp. (literally speaking)

      Love them!!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These poles are awesome! Easy to adjust, they are light, and sturdy ( I fall a lot , no issues so far, very strong! ) would Highly recommend these to anyone looking for a pole that does it all, in and out of bounds.

      Great poles

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I live in Argentina. I´ve used this pole for traditional ski and climbing ski. The FlickLock Pro works perfectly and don't weigh a lot.

      Great poles

Had to get a second pair

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Last Christmas I bought these for my mom. She loved them so much that my sister ended up wanting them for this year. They have survived a year with little signs of wear. The FlickLock adjust is super easy to use and feels very sturdy.

      Great Poles

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought these poles before a week long summer ski trip to Argentina.

They did everything they were supposed to as advertised. The powder baskets stay put and keep the poles from probing too deep.

The flicklock is super easy to use and so helpful when switching between hiking and skiing.

Highly recommend these poles for anyone skiing powder or going into the side/backcountry.
