A pant for every adventure.

The Black Diamond Men's Alpine Pants are no-frills softshell pants for climbing, touring, or any other cold weather aerobic activity. Articulated knees and four-way stretch woven fabric combine to create rapid-drying, easy-moving pants ideally suited for action in the backcountry. A water-resistant treatment protects your legs from light rain and snow, while the highly breathable softshell material ensures your legs feel fresh and comfortable all day. An adjustable belt with low-profile buckle allows you to customize your fit, while ankle adjustable cuffs pull over most boots to keep out rocks, ice, and snow.

  • Ideal for long days touring or ice and mixed climbing
  • Just the right warmth for fall and spring missions
  • DWR finish repels light rain and snow
  • Four-way stretch material promotes mobility while climbing
  • Slim fit reduces bulk for a streamlined fit

Finally!

Yes, finally a climbing pant that fits well for those with athletic legs. Seems like all the pants I tried (Topo Designs, Parana, etc) were like spandex through the quads. Although they’re listed as slim fit, they are more of a relaxed fit compared to other climbing pants. I wear a 34x32 in Levi’s 547, and the large fits me great. Trim trough the quads, which is nice while wearing a harness, and a nice taper through the legs with cinch-able leg openings. Great hiking, climbing, light mountaineer pant for those that lift weights.

    Whistle while you walk!

I love the look, fit, and durability of these pants, but I don't love how loud they are. They sound like ski pants when you're walking around. However, I've put these pants through a number of rough scrambles that would shred a lesser pant, and these still look good as new, so the sound they make is relatively negligible issue.

I used these pants for the first time Yesterday(President's Day) for a canyoneering trip through Telephone Canyon at Zion National Park. Due to the early season the approach to the entrance to the first rappel we had to due alot of bush whacking and they held up perfectly! Due to the warming temp and run off the canyon had a decent amount of water flowing through it and these pants are awesome on drying off quickly! Perfect fit and stayed comfortable during the whole trip! f

    Excellent general purpose alpine pants

Excellent quality dynamic Schoeller is definitely the good stuff. I could use one more cargo pocket and without a drawstring. I added a lightweight belt, the elastic waistband by itself just doesn't quite cut it for me. Overall a superior and extremely functional pair of alpine pants.
