Airnet Shirt

Whether you're working up a sweat on the classic track or you're cruising the ski resort with your family, the Bjorn Daehlie Men's Airnet Shirt blends warmth and functionality for all your wintertime pursuits. The merino wool construction means this piece is warm and insulating during times of low activity and wicks moisture to keep you cool when you crank it up a notch.

  • Breathable baselayer for cold days spent cross country skiing
  • Merino wool regulates temperature and manages sweat
  • Elasticated back panels for comfort while wearing a pack
  • Slim fit can be layered under waterproof shells

Don't be turned off by the mesh

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Small

I am a professional cross-country skier and I recently received this product to use for training and racing. I was initially skeptical of the mesh to provide enough warmth but I quickly found it to be more than enough under a normal ski coat during cold days. It vents well and is comfortable providing you remove the tags. I am 5'10" and probably should've gone with a medium.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: M

This piece is truly ground breaking. Under a wind proof layer on those days when it's warm, breezy and possibly wet,. Or under a race top when you know you are going to need to keep the sweat from building up to maintain the proper temp. This thing is amazing. Yes, it's like fishnet stockings for your body, but there is a modesty panel on the chest for when you open up the zip on your rain jacket, and let's be honest, if you take your game seriously enough to invest in the right base layers, you also pack a shirt to change into right after your interval day or race. I have washed mine in the included garment bag, using Toko's wool care and had zero unwanted warping, snagging or shrinking.(hang dry) The box even recommends not washing every time, which I tested, and can report no stink. Get this and change your thinking on base layers for the modern 40 degree low temp winter we are having...

Cool Concept

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I got some Bjorn Daehlie gear for winter training in Salt Lake City, including this. I spend my time running and road riding to cross train as well as backcountry skiing. I'm 5'11" and 175lbs and got a size medium. It fits true to size. The cut of the top is a bit interesting.

I just want to make it clear what you're buying - the mesh is pretty much see through and the way these pants are designed ends up being pretty specific to their intended use, that being high aerobic activity. Its a bit of a crop top with merno mesh being pretty snug around the bell. I will say that I'm not willing to post a photo of myself wearing them, but the merino mesh is very much see through, the product photos show this.

If you plan on doing a seriously high intensity aerobic activity and plan on wearing an outer layer, I could see these being a great option. Not sure these would be the first base layer option I'd recommend to most people unless you plan on mostly nordic skiing with it.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
Measure from the crotch to the floor with no shoes.
Sleeve Length:
Have someone measure from the center of the back neck down the arm, with arm slightly bent, to the wrist bone.
