Let There Be Light!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This tent has quickly become one of my favorite new piece of gear, for more reasons than I can list in a single review. To start with this tent is extremely easy to set up, and once you set it up for the first time it is like riding a bicycle. The double-doorway is a dream, being able to get out on either side is amazing, with the over-all room of the tent quite large. I really enjoy how tall the tents stand, and it is great for someone who is tall like myself. Than there is the Mtnglow lighting system in the tent which makes it really stand out. The lights are integrated into the tent so you do not have to do anything with them; and it comes with a power-pack which takes 3 AAA batteries, or it can be plugged in via USB to an outside power source. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of lights these give off, as all as the soothing nature of the light; it is nothing like the blinding beam of a headlamp. When you are done with the tent it is very easy to fold it up and pack it back in the stuff sack, never having any problem getting everything to fit inside the bag. The over-all weight of the tent is very light for how roomy it is. I would recommend this tent to anyone for either a backpacking or a car camping tent; with it being very versatile.
The Perfect Portable Home
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I hate getting into the tent after a day of adventures and either using a head lamp or flashlight to try navigating my way around. These beams of light only shining in one direction, depending on where you manually move the light. Lanterns are an alternative, but another heavy item taking space in the pack...Big Agnes Mtn GLO is the exact solution to this. The lights are sewn directly into the tent so wherever the tent goes, lighting is there too!
The tent is set up within a couple minutes and the weight is hardly noticeable when in the pack. I bought this tent to use backpacking when my fiance and I take out Bernese Mountain Dog on adventures with us. We have enough room all three of plus all of our gear inside the tent. If we overpack, or there the trip calls for three people, then the Rattlesnake have two great vestibules that will keep your gear dry, while freeing up plenty of room inside.
I would highly recommend this tent for backpacking, or anykind of camping.
