Float like a trad climber, sting like a sport climber.

The Beal Stinger Dry Cover Single Climbing Rope is strong for sport and light for multipitching. With a 9.4mm diameter, it's surprising that the Stinger can boast a high number of UIAA falls, and the impact force stays low for a cozier fall. Beal treated this rope with Dry Cover for limited water absorption, improved handling, and better resistance against grit, humidity, and abrasion.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this rope about 5 months ago.
It has become our workhorse. Only taken one fall on it but it was a cushy one. This rope is awesome in every aspect of the word. It's light for long approaches. It's as strong as a much thicker cord. Belays very smoothly in my atc and my buddies gri gri.

    Now for the cons....
It has a tendency to kink a bit ( just flake it out every time). I got the anise color, it gets really dirty, like it's bi-colored black and anise ( I climb mostly on sandstone ). It's starting to get a little fuzzy on one end ( this is disheartening ). But it's also seen about 200 pitches.

Overall this is the nicest rope I've ever used. Great rope for the price, if I had the cash I would buy another today, next spring for sure. Beal is my go to brand for cordage. The cons do exist but they mostly are just use, and not anything wrong with it.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ROPE!!!! If not this specific rope at least buy a Beal.

Wow. I don't know where to begin with this rope.. I've had the Stinger for a few seasons now. I use the Stinger as my work horse rope & my projecting rope, she's a BRUTE!

Whether you are sport cragging or packing & racking up in the alpine, or swinging tools in the winter this rope is light, incredible durable and ready for climbing in any condition. Having a dry treatment allows this rope to be a go to for any season, anywhere.

As for handling, this rope runs smoothly through a gri-gri, megajul, alpine smart, or your regular ol' ATC.

Tired of your rope kinking up & tangling? Bust this baby out and let it rip with confidence.

The amount of technology that goes into this rope makes it a STEAL for the price point. Beal nailed it with the Unicore Technology on this rope. The Unicore Technology bonds the sheath to the core, eliminating sheath slippage, reduces rope shrinkage, and will allow you to lower off if you've stripped the sheath.
