Great Pants, Not Durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34/32

I purchased these pants in charcoal. They fit great and looked great. I wore them for work all the time. I owned them for about three months and wore them in an office environment. One day a coworker pointed out that he could see my underwear through a large hole in the back right pocket. Somehow, this pocket ripped down the entire outside vertical seam of the pocket.

I don't carry anything in that pocket and loved these pants for their look and comfort. I paid more for them because I thought they would last. I'm going to take them to the seamstress to see if they can be repaired, but I have doubts because of how large the hole is. Other than the large hole, these are great pants.

Great Pants, Not Durable

They're pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 34x32

Great feeling fabric, do not wrinkle, would be great for travel, should shed light moisture. I usually wear 34x32 in all my pants- jeans, chinos, etc. I'm more like a 33 but with some size to the quads and glutes, 34 always fits best. The waist is somewhat small on these and has no give at all (it won't stretch out like a pair of jeans). I could probably get away with a 36. I'd say if in doubt, size up 1. As it is, I could stand to lose some fat and these will be perfect. Length is spot on. I can see wearing these all the time.

good product but sizing is 2 sizes small

  • Fit: Runs small

good product - great material, very comfortable and they look great. however, the waist is too sizes too small (if you normally wear a 32 waist, get a 34 in this product)

Nice and easy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34x32

Picked these up as a nice casual light weight pant to wear rather than jeans.
Nice and light weight fit is great, and True to size. I'm 5'9" with a 32" inseam (34" waist in the off season and 33" when training). I ordered the 34x32 and as I said the fit great and true to size form the size chart. Plenty of room to move around, pick things up, walk the trail etc. The fabric does make a little bit of a swish sound when walking.

My only grip is there is a loop hook on the inside of the pant right by the tail bone I might have to cut out. Sometimes it bothers me and other days it doesn't. Either way you can't go wrong with these pants!

Firm fit; good fabric

Nice looking chinos! The waist is closer to a 31 than a 32; need to add a button so they fit looser.

    Nice Pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 35

These are comfortable and fit well.

    Great pant, fits small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 32x32

These pants felt great. The cut seemed well thought out and had enough fabric in the right places while keeping the overall look slim. Unfortunately, they fit just an inch too small in the waist.
I am a solid 32 in almost every brand, but I was worried about ripping the button out in the 32's here. Too bad a 33 isn't available because I would have exchanged them in a heartbeat. They would likely get 5 stars if the sizing had been better.

    I wear them like sweatpants

So comfortable! These live up to the description - I wear them to the office and hiking. Soft fabric and slim fit make them comfortable to wear. 34x34 works great for me at 6’1” 180 lbs.

      Slick Alternative

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I have to say that I am pleasantly impressed with these pants . They are soft on the skin, a true straight leg cut, stretchy, and overall comfortable. I feel great in these for really whatever activity that I am doing whether I am up in the mountains, or down in the city. I have the Taupe and they do seem to get dirty pretty easy but I have found that they wash very easily and do not shrink in the dryer. I wish that they did have somewhat better of a gusseting in the crotch, but I still cant say that the stretch is bad. I am able to push fluidly on a skateboard, make heel hooks on a rock, and then proceed to go on a late night date all within the same day and pant.

      Comfortable yet functional

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 38x34

I've had the Basin and Range Storm Mountain Chino pants for a few months now and practically live in them. They are very comfortable and have a nice tailored fit that make them look casual yet professional. I have an office job that allows for casual wear, and these are my pant of choice. I'm a big guy and struggle to find pants that fit without making me look like I have tree-trunk legs. I'm 6'4" 230lbs and wear the size 38X34. The length is perfect, allowing me to sit without the pant riding up. The fabric feels solid, but I haven't had them long enough yet. It wouldn't surprise me if these last for years without breaking down, they feel very durable. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone looking for a casual/professional pant for everyday use.

Tailored Fit with Real World Function!!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 31x30

I have to say the Storm Mountain has been a pleasant surprise for me so far! Typically, finding a pair of Chino pants that fit well, and offers any kind of mobility is a painful task at best. However, this pant has a nice tailored cut while allowing enough room in the right areas for a full range of movement. You know, for those after work bouldering sessions, or a quick jaunt up the canyon to catch a few brookies after brunch.
There are gussets in the hand pockets as well as a few other key areas, also it feels like there is a pretty decent amount of stretch in the fabric itself. Which I am sure contributes to the mobility as well as the killer fit!
The fabric has a very soft feel to it, and at first, I was unsure how durable it would be, but after a few months of wearing them hiking, climbing, fishing, and around town, I am confident that they are just a damn good pair of pants!
I feel like these are a vast improvement over the past iteration of the Storm Mountain, and I can't really say much in the way of negatives. I reckon I would like to see more colors down the line.
As for fit, they seem to be pretty true to size, and I would stick with your normal measurements here. Maybe an inch up in the waist depending on how many breakfast burritos and IPAs you had on the river this summer.

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Have someone measure from the center of the back neck down the arm, with arm slightly bent, to the wrist bone.
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
