So enjoyable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This was my favorite gear purchase of 2018!!!! I was really excited to try a piece of Backcountry gear and I was not disappointed. Withstood a rainy, windy, cold week in Iceland and has been my go-to jacket ever since!

So enjoyable

Not the lining I was hoping for

  • Fit: True to size

This is a great rain jacket, but since I plan to wear it in Texas when it rains, with a t-shirt, I just know that my arms will stick to the vinyl type material on the interior.

Hey Mary! I'm so sorry about the trouble with this jacket - the material might not be the best with humidity and no mesh liner. A lighter weight rain jacket like item number #BNG005M might be a better choice for your climate. I will send you an email if you would like to get this set up!

Perfect fit, perfect gift.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

I purchased this jacket as a birthday gift for my spouse. It arrived today and she looks amazing in it and she LOVES it. Nicely tailored and a funky pattern. I had ordered a Backcountry brand jacket for her 10 years ago, which she still wears and it has held up to all kinds of hiking and traveling, I am thrilled that the quality of your brand remains top notch. Thank you from a long time Backcountry fan.

Light Rain Jacket with Flare

The cute style may just have you wondering if it's as dependable as they say...IT IS. Took this along on a NON-STOP DRIZZLY weekend in Moab. The rain didn't stop our hikes, rides or the views---the jacket came through, the rain did not. Stayed dry and the weekend was a huge success. This is a lightweight trail or casual around-town jacket. Not an ultra-light nor minimalist technical shell, but just right to be light enough and functional--by design. I also like the option to shorten or lengthen with hemline drawcord (photo shows it with drawcord tightened). Good call on this new acquisition to my outerwear.

Keeps You Dry!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got caught in a hail/rain storm a few weeks ago while traveling to Boulder and was happy I had packed my rain jacket. I've never seen a storm like that before but the jacket did it's job and kept me dry and protected. I got several compliments on it too - great fit and awesome print. The other benefit is it packs down tight so it doesn't take much room in your suitcase or purse when traveling - added bonus!!

Pretty-Functional

This rain jacket is definitely made for the mountains and such, but I highly recommend it for city use as well, because it's so stylie. I did 4 stars on this because the jacket is new to me and I don't know how it will hold up, yet. Otherwise, it wins all the other stars.

The cut and shape of this jacket is very flattering. I get a lot of compliments, whenever I wear it. The drawstring waist keeps a feminine feel, without feeling suffocated by a tightly cut jacket. The length is my favorite of all the rain jackets I've had. It's almost a short dress length, so it covers pretty much everything except the legs.

This is a fully waterproof jacket. It's definitely worked for me, both times I've used it in a rainstorm. The breathability is on par with other fully-waterproof jackets. I never find any of them completely comfortable, like a water resistant-jacket is.

Compared to other fully waterproof jackets, it is an exceptional price. I do think there are slightly more packable jackets, but they cost almost twice as much. And this packs down well, so I'm really happy with it and will recommend it to everyone, except for only the most ultra-light backpackers.

I'm typically a medium and the medium fits like a glove. I'm a climber and my it fits my shoulders. If you have exceptionally wide shoulders, you may need to size up. Otherwise, just go true to size.

I love this rain jacket! Itâ is lightweight but still warm, and water resistant. Has a great shape that fits just perfect, and the material is great quality. Perfect for all my spring hiking!

Best Light-weight Jacket

This jacket is LONG for a rain jacket and almost completely covers the seat. This definitely is not a short jacket. Gorgeous photo! Thank you!

I’m usually a Black only clothing kind of person, but I am in love with this pattern! It’s so pretty and the jacket it comfortable and versatile. I’ve worn it hiking at 14,000ft and for walks out around town. It is my favorite jacket I own now!

Love this jacket!

This jacket is the kind of item you'd buy, thinking you'd only use it in the rain, and then be surprised by how often you wear it.

So far this year, Vermont has had about 4 rainy days-- the rest have been too cold. Yet, I've worn this jacket a handful of times more, because of its breathability and wind cover on days when any other jacket seems too heavy or too light.

The waterproofing is good and the hood and sleeves are nice and sturdy, which is nice on such a lightweight jacket.

The fit is unexpectedly flattering and the fun pattern makes this a really good wardrobe piece in general. I'll be curious to see how it holds up in torrential rain!
