Really Nice Shirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I'm very pleased with this flannel shirt. At first it was very stiff, but after a wash, the fabric softened up, and its been a great ever day shirt. I will call out that this item does run small. I usually fit a Medium with this brand, but I needed to size up to a Large with this item.

Look good at a great price!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I am very impressed with the quality of the material on this shirt. It is breathable, stretchy but also durable. I've worn this shirt to business meetings and on the mountain and I'm gravitating to it more and more. It is a high-value shirt that needs a place in your wardrobe.

Size too small, gentle wash ruined it

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

I wash all my delicate clothes like flannels or dress shirts on the same gentle cold/cold settings with delicate dry. No problems on nearly everything except this shirt. Bought a size up and day 1 felt great. After the first wash it shrunk dramatically and hardened to be an uncomfortable and awkward fitting shirt that is sadly going to go to goodwill. Order massive or dry clean it, but that shouldnt be necessary for a ~$70 shirt.

Jonathan,

Thank you for your review. Any and all feedback is welcomed, especially with our Owned Brands. I'll be sure to pass this along to them. Give me a call, or send me an email to see if we can rectify this for you.

Great Casual Button Down

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

The Backcountry Stretch Poplin is a really good looking casual button down shirt made of a stretchy cotton/tencel blend. I love the goat logo on the back shoulder! The fit is trim but true to size. I bought a medium for my husband, who is 5'9, 175 with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. He normally wears a medium and it fits him. It is slightly tight in the shoulders and arms, but the stretch fabric helps with this thankfully. A similar shirt is the Patagonia Pima Cotton shirt, but it has more room than the Stretch Poplin. If you are in between sizes I recommend sizing up. The length is appropriate for his arms and the bottom of the shirt, but not a lot of excess fabric. Taller guys may want to size up.

My least favorite flannel.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XXL

To start off: yes, I am a Backcountry Gearhead. No, that doesn't mean I have to love Backcountry brand items.

This shirt has all the wrong fit in all the wrong places. Reading the reviews and knowing how our products are sized, I ordered a size up and got a XXL. And even then the flannel was cut at my belt line (and moved above it with any arm raising), the sleeves barely had enough length to even reach my wrist bone, and the shirt was boxy all around rather than fitted or "slim" and the picture and description suggests.

On the plus side, it's a cool feeling synthetic flannel that is light and airy.

Luckily I can offer this feedback directly to our design team here and we can fix these issues for the next time around, but for now my review stands as it is.

Lightweight Everyday

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

I'm 5'9, 150 lbs. I normally order Small in woven button ups. The fit is small and narrow on this shirt. The Medium fits perfect.

Nice Shirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

I thought this shirt would be like all my other button ups but it is much nicer than the others. It is comfortable, looks nice, and fits well. This has become my favorite long sleeve for casual Friday, I may come back for another in a different color.

Poppin Poplin

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

This shirt is great! Its super comfortable with the slightly stretchy material used in it. It moves great with you and is not restrictive at all. Perfect length to be worn untucked without looking goofy.

It does have a slimmer fit but I wouldnt say it runs small. I wear a large in most stuff and have pretty broad shoulder and the large in this fits perfect and looks really great.

I like it so much I bought both colors but personally favor the green a little bit more as its a little more vibrant in person. Really versatile shirt, put it over a t shirt for a little extra coverage and warmth on cooler days, wear it by itself on warmer days. Good for all but the hottest days.

Great shirt

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

The material on this shirt is really comfortable and stretchy, however the shirt does run a bit small in the shoulders, so size up! I first purchased a medium but then sized up to a large and it fits great. I gave it four stars because it's a bit heavy for the hottest days of summer, but works great in the office since our A/C always seems to be cranked.

Runs small

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

Bought the large based on size chart, but the shirt was too small in every way. Good look and feel with the fabric, so I am bumping up to the XL.

A Quality Button Up

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

With warmer days on the way, I usually tend to stay away from long sleeves and button ups, but my mind has changed. I love how lightweight and comfortable this button up is. As well as the quality is on point to other big name brands. I'll definitely be wearing it a lot more this summer while I camp and backpack.

A Quality Button Up

Classic button up

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This button up instantly reminded me of my grandpa's old school classic black and red button ups, the kind of shirt I felt like he did everything in, the kind of shirt that lasted forever. Instantly I was impressed with the quality of the material, soft, breathable but also durable. I've only worn this shirt around town but I'm instantly gravitating to it more and more. Riding my bike on cool overcast mornings I've realized how comfortable this shirt is. It keeps me warm on overcast days and breathes well and stays cool on sunny ones. I feel like it was made for any variety of activities of movement or leisure. I also love the flexibility of layering it with a t-shirt, wearing it alone and rolling the sleeves. This shirt has quickly moved to the front of my closet.
