The Spruces Merino Bottom is positioned as the first choice for skiers and snowboarders in the Spruces line. We implemented a shorter inseam to ensure the fabric steers clear of our custom-fitted boots for ultimate comfort and performance. The moisture-wicking merino wool also helps regulate your body temperature so that you can focus on flying up the skintrack or linking together fleeting pockets of untouched powder spotted from the chairlift.

Pretty Good but has Issues
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These really keep me warm but there are 2 issues. 1. The waistband is way smaller than the stated size. It is a super wide band so it?s definitely something you feel at all times. The waist in most clothes is too big for me proportionately so this works ok but it?s still not comfy. 2. I believe these are 7/8 length not 3/4. I am 5?6? & have to bunch these up to keep them out of my snowboarding boots, they go to my ankle. I ordered 3/4 so I wouldn?t have to do that. I don?t feel like dealing with returns so I?m keeping them & will keep looking for true 3/4 length. I am always a small & I ordered a medium. Could?ve gone large for the waistband but the rest would?ve been big & even longer.

not so great

I had high hopes for these, but agree 100% with the other 2 reviews on the waistband. It simply does not need to be that constricting and is pretty over the top. I am 5'6" 118 lb and the waistband fits fine, but rides high (hello high rise) and is just overbearing and feels uber annoying. I also found the material itself to have more of a glossy feel than I was expecting, not fuzzy soft like Smartwool wool. Thanks anyway Backcountry, you guys are great! I'll be returning these.

Runs Super Small

The waistband runs very very small. I am 5'5" 135lbs. I originally got a medium but had to return it on the account of not being able to breathe. Will try a Large to see if the band is better. Everything else is great on these pants!

I REALLY wanted to love these as I need a new baselayer for winters here in Colorado- the legs feel great & the fabric is soft, however the waistband is VERY tight. I wish the band was wider, similar to leggings. The legs fit great - like a small, but the waistband is very compressing & fits like an XS. Have to send them back :/ 5'3" 125lbs
