Just OK

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Nice fitting Jacket. Color in very close to what is shown.
Zipper is cheap and gets jammed/stuck.

Watch pricing too. The jacket goes on sales and the price fluctuates a lot. Don’t over pay.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this jacket, Edward. And yes, we often have great sales on Backcountry gear and apparel! Our 30 day price guarantee also means that we'll honor the best price if Backcountry runs a better sale within 30 days of your purchased.

Great Option for a True Down Jacket

Disclaimer: I was given this product by Backcountry but all the opinions in this review are my own.

Overview: I really loved this jacket. I used it while traveling all over Iceland and it performed exactly as I needed it too. Its constructed well and kept me extra warm.

Pros:
- Jacket material is great quality and does a decent job at repelling water which is important for a down jacket so it doesn't get soggy with light rain
- The fit of jacket, I had no issue with. I've seen some reviews of tight forarms but I fould that it was perfect for my size without being too bulky. It also was a great fit for hiking and moving around in.
- The details are thoughout. There is a nice felt patch where your chin touches the collar which made it have no issues rubbing your chin when fully zipped. The elastic in the wrist was far enough back that you could still wear gloves and it wouldnt get in the way if.

Cons:
- The zipper almost seemed like it needed to break in and it was finicky at first.
- The jacket packs into itself but it was difficult to actually get it all into the pouch and zip it up. It got down to a small package but I worry about how the seams will hold up in that area after a couple years of shoving it into its pouch.

Overall, I recommend this jacket and loved it.

Great all around puffer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This jacket is good ! , for the $ I think it’s was a very good deal with the amount of features they give you! The only reason not a full five stars is because it does run a little small at the forearms (I can barely get my watch through) and lack of durability as I already seen A few stitching coming undone on the seems. Only a one season jacket so it’s not worn much. Overall it’s great for what you pay for!

Should have sized up

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

Just received the jacket and I should have gone a size up (as others suggested). The model on the product page is shown to be 6'2 wearing a medium, but I'm 5'10 and skinny so I ordered a medium. Oops. Standing, it fits really well. I love the two-way zipper, hood adjustment cord and hidden elastic in the cuffs that should seal out wind. Slash pockets are well designed. Incredibly light. Looks clean and unfussy. My only dislike was that the jacket felt more snug around the shoulders and back. If I reach to tie a shoelace, it feels like I'm really stretching the back of the jacket and it's uncomfortable. Returning it for a large which I'm sure I'll love.

Make sure and size up!

I was excited for this jacket, ordered a Large, like I wear in everything else. Showed up and the sleeves are to short, torso to short, and my wife said I looked like a stuffed sardine. Make sure and size up if you order!

As for build, it had YKK zippers, and the face was more durable than other insulation jackets I've used in the past. I really enjoyed the matte color, just wish they had the green in XL instead of L.

Awesome Jacket!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Med

Pros: Fairly lightweight down jacket and comfortable in 30 deg weather with a sweatshirt/long sleeve. Could be used as inside layer if you wear a gortex shell over it. Fits good but a little snugger at the forearms with a sweat-shirt due to slim fitting design but chest and stomach area was perfect. Decent product quality for the $ especially with a deal (which is what I got). Love the green color which I bought. You can't really smell the goose down (very subtle) is a plus cause I have had jackets or down blankets were your thinking your outdoors with a the geese! lol. Good length with cord to tighten bottom and great hood size. great large pockets and inside pockets. Zippers is decent.

Cons: Snugness at forearms when layered.

Conclusions: Its a damn good jacket with 1 minor issue for me. I love it! :)

Measure from the crotch to the floor with no shoes.
