Vantage 97 C Ski

Atomic redesigned its all-mountain crushing Vantage lineup to be lighter and stronger for an effortless, enjoyable ride, and the Men's Vantage 97 C Ski is no exception. You'll rip pristine corduroy, weave through tight trees, and won't be left high and dry on unexpected powder days with the versatile 97 millimeter waist, while the rockered tip and tail lend a nimble playfulness to the ski and ensure efficient float in deeper snow. A healthy helping of underfoot camber grips firm groomers with ease, and makes each turn feel energetic and fun.

The Vantage 97 C's construction is really what makes it shine as a daily driver in virtually any conditions. Atomic's Prolite Construction builds the ski around a slim profile and adds reinforcement in key areas, meaning it has all the strength you require from a hard-charging machine without any extra weight. A layer of stiff carbon mesh throughout the whole ski helps keep the weight low while adding strength at speed, and the poppy poplar core is like a shock-absorbing wall for a smooth, stable feel. Throw in full-length vertical sidewalls for torsional stability and quick power transfer from edge-to-edge and experience the freedom to go anywhere on the mountain.

Sturdy and Speedy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These skis were great for a warm spring day. Sturdy to cut through some heavy snow and easy to maneuver. Great for groomers or trees!

Fast and Fun

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used these up at Deer Valley and they performed great all over! Started out on some pretty slick groomers, then found about 5 inches of fresh snow, then finished the day on some spring corn as the temps warmed up. These skis held a good edge on the hardpack and floated though the pow with ease. Stiff design prevents chatter and they feel relatively lightweight compared to other Atomic skis I've tried. I thought they felt a little slow from edge to edge and weren't super nimble, but that would be my only complaint. Very nice all mountain ride!

Great in any condition!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We took these out on a day where we had 6 inches of new snow. We skied in powder the first half of the day and then went on groomers the rest. Super impressed about how well these skis did all over the mountain. They were fast, easy to turn, held an edge, did well through the trees, good float in powder, and ripped the groomers. Not much else I look for in a ski!

Too much ski for me!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wanted to try out a pair of men's skis because I've been looking for a heavier and stiffer ski that can cut through the crud. While they were perfectly adequate, I felt a bit like I was fighting the ski the entire day. I couldn't get them to turn as much as I wanted and they felt a little ungainly. I'm not sure if this was just the day, the snow conditions, or the skis. As a 5'6" 125lb woman, this may have just not been the best ski for me!

great all around ski

they float well in powder for their size, and they handle well in icy conditions.

    Atomic leads the way!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Had a day on these 172's, and I felt like I could do anything on the hill.
I stayed mainly on groomers, so I was carving on some creamy turns, and I never lost my edge.
A great ski. kept me upright all day.

    Good skis.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was able to get out for a day to demo these skis. I am a fairly novice skier so I can't speak a whole lot to the specifics. But I can say that I turned better in these than on my lighter backcountry set up. I really just needed a pair heavier and wider for the resort and they worked great! They I am 5'7" and was on the 172s. I'd like to try a size down to see how much more control I'd have. Overall, I was content on these all day at the resort!

    Floaty Skis

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These skis were a little bit heavier than I prefer, but still performed well in the deep snow. Just be prepared for a leg workout!

    Powder Monsters

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Dot to demo these skis for a few days and was lucky enough to have some powder for these things to MUNCH UP. No really. These skis float like a pontoon boat on the fluffy stuff. The rocker profile lets you float around freely on the thin dusted areas and plow through the deep stuff without worrying about your tips. I would highly recommend these skis for a bit of fun on a powder day. Now to the Groomers. These skis carve harder than a group of kids at a jack-o-lantern party. A nice profile lets you back and forth on the groomers all day long. The rocker can get you in a wobble sometimes if you are running strait on the groomers but apart from that these skis are good fun for a resort day. I'd recommend these skis if you are looking to head off the groomers and into the wild stuff. Get a little out there. They float like a dream and will keep you on your toes.

    Great skis!

I'm an Atomic employee and had the chance to demo the Women's version of these skis last winter, and I was impressed. With a not-so-great Utah winter last year, we kept to the groomers..and these ripped!

      Recommended Sizing Guide

Your ski size is largely determined by both your skiing ability and your preferred style of skiing. For example, an expert skier in Vermont will ski a far different ski than an expert in British Columbia. So take a look at our chart and explanations and find your perfect fit. Your weight also plays a large factor in finding the right ski. If you are either under or over average weight for your height consider downsizing or upsizing, respectively.
