- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought this ski a few months ago in 204 length and was very excited to ski on it this winter. I have been skiing, often on wooden and no-wax fishscale skis for nearly 50 years. We have a lot of snow here and on a few inches of powder on a relatively flat ski, it is fine. However, the mohair strip does not grip enough to allow comfortable and easy skiing up or down on steeper, even moderately steep grades. I would not buy this ski again. It is simply a one-shot ski for me. I wish I could return it. I guess I will try to sell it, although honestly, I doubt anyone will want it.
204 is their Extra Stiff ski for heavier skiers. So unless you're over 200 pounds, it will be difficult to make the skin patch to touch the ground. I'm thinking you should have gone with a shorter (i.e. softer) ski.
