- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
My go to for a car camping outing. A little too heavy to lug around on a on foot camping trip but makes for a cozy nights rest.

Sturdy and comfortable but I wouldn’t recommend lugging it anywhere too far.
Been good to me so far, the cot has held up great from going to Moab and Mt. Hood so far. No doubt this will last me 10+ years and is going to be coming with me on many more adventures! Fair price as well, I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a Cot.
Been sleeping on this extra large size cot since it was received from BackCountry in my residential living space, a month ago. Spacious dimensions of the extra large size cot allow for the side to side, back and stomach various sleeping postures of a night's sleeping pattern. Room for arms, legs and feet repositioning in sleeping postures. Cot is 20" height from floor, so I experienced some figuring out best method of transferring self from cot to floor, as feet are several inches above floor. Recently I placed a Thermarest sleeping air filled pad on the cot. Better access to floor with feet with increased height of sleep pad and is even more comfortable. I have also placed a cotton sheet on the cot's sleeping surface and then Marmot synthetic bag unzipped for blanket like covering and slept well.
The cot seems thoughtfully designed and constructed of quality materials. Willow green very nice color and sturdy weight fabric. Took some adjusting making transition from sleeping on the floor with backpacking air mattress to the ALPS Escalade Extra large cot but am pleased with results. Weight is 28 lbs +- and not for backpacking practical use. So far I've been using this cot for residential at home sleeping system and am very satisfied with quality sleeping cot performance and comfort. Very satisfied with
this purchase and Thank You BackCountry for the very fast shipment of this item, much appreciation.
To avoid future returns, Backcountry should correct the "Claimed Weight
[large] 16 lb, [x-large] 17.5 lb" to the more accurate 27lbs! Did not get the cot out of the box, so I have no opinions on the item itself since it was too heavy for me to lift. Backcountry did provide easy return since item was not as advertised.
Don't buy this the plastic parts are no way designed for use. I have no clue what these other people are giving this POS product a good review. This is too heavy to backpack with. If you happen to carry this monstrosity to a campsite farther than 20 feet, you would be exhausted. Then after setting it up and the plastic parts fails you, you have a pile of junk. Can't even burn it for a campfire. I wonder how many people left this out in the woods because it wasn't worth carrying back. Bad for you, the environment, and your paycheck! Garbage made in China/designed by American cost cutting thieves and sold at a high price. Not even worth recycling the metal its so cheap.
Bought this on sale and love it! Use this car camping and when the house is full of extra teenagers crashing the night. Very easy to set up . Have used it with and without a 1 inch self inflated sleeping pad on top. Pretty quiet for a cot when the occupant is changing positions. When my teenage boys have friends over, they frequently have âcontestâ to decide who gets to sleep on the cot. It is heavy but that isnât an issue. Itâs not like I would take this thing backpacking with me. Due to its easy of set-up, sturdiness and comfort, I wouldnât balk at paying full price of I ever need a new cot.
Awesome picture Brian! Thanks for taking the time to write your review. Glad it's been working out so well for you!
No one likes rocks in their back, or a deflating air mattress. If you car camp and want to sleep like you are at home, here you go! Be sure to check dimensions, might be too big for smaller backpacking tents. Set up and take down is a breeze, you can do it blindfolded. It is heavy, but that’s why we have trucks!

I love this cot. It offers a very firm sleeping surface. It also folds/unfolds easily. It's a bit heavy at 16 lbs, but that goes with the stoutness of the product.
