Great Chair

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Nice comfy chair. We use it for my son's sporting events. Packs easy, not to heavy. They are over a year old and they look new.

sturdy chairs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are some solid and durable chairs. As noted in other reviews, they are much heavier than standard cheap folding camp chairs, but if that's not a critical feature you need, the durability and quality construction are good trade-offs for the weight. A common complaint is also the narrow seat width. I can see what people are saying, but it hasn't been an issue for me. If you need a chair that will accommodate a significantly wider than average body size, this probably isn't your best choice. We've used these chairs for car camping, riverbank fishing, and backyard bonfires. For activities like those, I'd give the chair 5 stars. The bulk and weight make them harder to use for boating or for any activity that requires carrying them along with other gear very far, which is why I gave them 4 stars overall.

Great for car camping!

I recently purchased two of these chairs for camping and so far we love them! They are easy to get in and out of the carrying bag, they have two cup holders, they are sturdy and they are comfortable! I would definitely recommend these for car camping!

seat is narrow - big only for a child

Seat is narrow - not big.

    Solid!

We were looking for a few chairs to use with our camping setup in the Taco. A bit heavy, but if you're not taking it far, then it is a solid choice. The adjustable arm rests are a plus, along with the dual cup holders.

    Very sturdy

A little heavy but, extremely sturdy. Great for car camping etc.

      Slightly heavier, but more durable...

so it's worth the extra weight. Good for fireside fun or tailgating. Love the 2 cup holders, although I wish they were slightly bigger to hold some larger mugs.

      nice chair

Durable, makes you sit up straight, I don't like those chairs that makes you feel like your saggin in on the chair. It's height is great so makes it easy to get up and running quickly

      Great Chair

The back is plenty high to make for comfy campfire sitting.

      Big but not comfy

It has a very sturdy frame which is good but makes the chair stiff and not comfortable for lounging in.

Is the back on this chair high enough to rest your head?

        I'm 5'9".

Nope, it tops out around shoulder height unless you slouch a lot.

Their website lists it at 11 pounds. Not a backpacking chair by any means.

        ALPS Mountaineering Big C.A.T chair

Past experience has led me to Alps Mountaineering for any and all purchases of camping chairs. I chose these as they are relatively compact when folded up and yet extremely heavy duty. Being 6'4" and 220 pounds, I want a chair that I know I can trust not to collapse during use. My main use for these is for trail lunches while out exploring off road in our Jeep, Tthey are plenty comfortable back in the campsite as well. I highly recommend these for any one that is looking for this type of chair.
