The Alpinestars Faster Bike Hydration Backpack has all the bells and whistles you need for an awesome day out on the trails. Made from durable rip-stop nylon with PU reinforcement, this bag can handle a few bumps along the route and features a multitude of zippered pockets to stow ride gear, snacks, and that all-important camera to document the adventure. A separate compartment houses your favorite, separately sold hydration bladder with a convenient conduit for the hydration hose.
This backpack includes two side mesh pockets for quick, on-the-fly access to ride necessities, a waterproof front pocket to protect your valuables through rainstorms, and functional straps to corral your helmet after the ride. Mesh shoulder straps and reinforced back padding let cooling air through to avoid sogginess on warm days, while a waist belt and adjustable sternum strap distribute weight evenly to increase comfort and keep the bag firmly in place as you rock over technical single track.
- Q & A
Based on a couple of the reviews about this pack being too small, what am I missing? How is this packs capacity of 18L too small for a 3L bladder?
Hydration bladder doesn't fit easily
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I just purchased this pack and I like many things about it - looks great, decent quality for the price (especially on sale), fits nicely and ideal storage/organization for my use on the trails. I also like that it has the spine protector. However that also goes against why I like this pack as well. Simply put, it's nearly impossible to fit a decent hydration bladder as well. I read a previous review and didn't think much of it but that person was totally right! But I still like this pack overall and will keep it. Will just have to find a smaller bladder fitment perhaps.
I returned this pack because it was almost impossible to insert a full 3 L hydration bladder, and when it was in the pack there was not room for the spine protector or anything else
I was looking for the "separately sold hydration bladder". Do you have any links / product descriptions? Or could I use any brand's bladder of appropriate dimensions? If so, what would the correct dimensions be? Thanks!
Hey Tom, This pack will hold a 2L hydration bladder. I suggest taking a look at the Deuter Streamer Water Reservoirs. It comes in a 2L and is one of my favorite bladders.
