Fresh lines are calling.
Part of 686's GLCR collection, the 686 Men's GLCR Quantum Thermagraph Pant specializes in ditching resort boundaries for deep snow and steep, untracked lines. Thermagraph Body Mapping places 100g Hyperfresh insulation at the knees and seat for low-bulk warmth where you need it most. Other snow-friendly features included: cargo pockets with water-resistant zippers, Cordura-reinforced Horseshoe Hems for fray-free wear, as well as an Inner Leg Lift System to prevent snagging your pant bottoms.
The infiDRY 20 membrane/laminate ensures high levels of waterproof protection and breathability, making it well suited for surviving winter's worst conditions in the backcountry—without soaking in built-up perspiration on the skin/hike up. Furthermore, fully taped seams seal the deal, making this pant practically impenetrable from the deepest powder and wettest maritime snowpacks alike.

- Q & A
Not sure about the other review. But the venting is good. The vent comes almost down to the knee. And the nice part is it's continuous. Meaning it zips open from one knee all the way up around the crotch and down to the other knee. This is good for dumping excess heat. I'm 5'11", 165 lbs, and 33" inseam. I tried the medium and the fit is great. Not baggy, relaxed but not tight at all. Room to layer and move. For my inseam though, they are just a tad short. An extra inch would be great. Otherwise this is a very good pant. Thumbs up 686!
Not sure what they were thinking

686 took a great product and made a change that makes no sense. I have last years version of these as well as a pair from 2-3 years ago before they became part of GLCR series. The vent on this years model is basically useless, it barely comes halfway down your thigh - not going to do a very good job dumping heat with this design. The vent on the past years models came down to your knee which is pretty standard....
