Mr. Popular.

The Zoic Men's Ether Short is the Goldilocks short for trail riding adventures with its stretchy, ultra-tough fabric, variety of easily accessible pockets, and built-in ventilation. DuraFlex fabric not only conforms to your every movement while you're sending natural hits and railing around berms, but it's also incredibly resilient against abrasion. Air Flow mesh panels sit below the rear waistband and down the legs, actively cooling your body as you rush down the mountain.

One of the best things about the Ether Short is the large variety of functional pockets. In total, you'll find six pockets for convenient storage, including a media-compatible pocket for seamlessly routing your tunes during longer rides. The Fusion Inseam Gusset provides full range of motion while eliminating fabric snags on your seat. And to retain a secure fit, adjustable waist tabs prevent the short from slipping as you're bombing downhills and cranking up steep hillsides.

  • Quintessential all-mountain shorts
  • DuraFlex fabric promotes fluid range of motion
  • Falls just-below-knee for optimum coverage and roominess
  • Bright color pops and subdued palettes suit any style

Great Reliable Short

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Had a pair of these for a very long time, and recently purchased two more. The original pair from REI had the liner, but I am honestly happier purchasing it without - I am picky about liners.

The fit is great. The length hits at the knee. The pockets at the waist are not much use while riding, but there are plenty of lower leg pockets. I personally like the sideways orientation of a few of the pockets as they are more convenient to reach while riding.

Overall very happy with these. Glad to see the quality hasn't changed over time.

Run slightly small, but still good

Well used, second pair of these shorts. Doesn't come with a butt pad, so do watch out.

    Great Fitting Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my favorite mountain biking shorts on the market. I wear them over bibs and they fit great. They stretch much better then some higher priced shorts I've tried. Super comfortable for long days in the saddle and have plenty of pockets to easily fit keys, phone, wallet and so on. I also wear them with low profile knee pads which fit easily fit under the bottom of the shorts.

    great shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've bought this ones before but in blue. I totally love them, so I decided to get another pair but this time in black. The blue ones are just fine, the only issue is that it is a bit hard matching shirts, so that's why I went for the black ones.

I'm usually a 33 and this time I got M instead of the L I previously bought. I prefer how the M fits.

    Solid shorts w/o liner

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I like to wear bib shorts and these work great over them. While not baggy, they have plenty of room and are very comfortable. The velcro adjustment tabs are great for dialing in the fit without needing a belt. They stay in place and do not stick to or get hung up on my seat. Plenty of pockets for keys, gels, cash, etc. These are my go to when I do not need knee coverage, can't beat them for the price.

I have a slender build and usually wear an XL in bib shorts, went with an L for these because I like a slimmer fit for my outer layers.

    Solid Bike Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really enjoy these shorts. In fact I've purchased a few pairs in different colors. I love the fit and the fabric. They are breathable and have the right amount of stretch in them. The only complaint I have is that I've had the zipper bust on one pair. Other than that, they've been a super solid pair of mtn bike shorts.

    Fabric not to my liking

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I am riding minimum 12 hours every week in very dry conditions in Southern Colorado for the last two years. I was looking for sturdy MTB shorts and received a pair resembling beach swim trunks. Material is light weight and so slippery it's not worth to even try to ride. Returning this item.

No Liner, Easy To Dial in Your Fit

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I loved the first pair I bought so much, I bought a second pair. I never buy MTB shorts with liners (I prefer to use my own bibs). These come without a liner, so I saved some change instead of paying for a pair with a liner and then tossing it. I also appreciate that the adjustable waistline tabs really lets you dial in your fit. This beats having to use a belt or relying on a crappy elastic waistband that ends up stretching out after awhile. Plenty of pockets that are actually big enough to fit things securely, including my cell phone. For the money, I really don't think there's a better buy.

Great gift for the biker in the family

    • Fit: True to size

Love the style of these shorts. Like having the liner and the shorts separate. Gave them as a gift for my Dad. He really liked them. Would recommend.

    Love these shorts!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

These are my 2nd pair of these. Pockets are great, fit is great. Much more durable than some higher priced shorts I've tried. Only thing I'd say against them is to ditch the liner which is available on some versions.

    GREAT for about a month

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I really liked these shorts when I first received them. Then after about a month one of the pocket zippers failed. They are super cheap zippers and have no place on bike shorts. Then about 2 weeks later the button fell apart. The fabric and general construction is nice at first but after a bit of use the cheap components begin to fail. Ill never buy anything from Zoic again. Definitely NOT recommended

    Zoic Ether

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

I have two pairs of these shorts. One with a liner, one without. Love them. I am 5-11, 230 lbs. XL fits perfectly. The liner was not for me, too thin. The shorts have plenty of pockets. They breathe well, and stretch to move with you. As far as length, they just touch the top of my knee. The atomic color is pear green. Maybe a little darker than the picture.

    Zoic Ether

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Fit is correct, like an SUV of bike shorts-they are very capable of doing anything and everything. Pockets and vents galore. I just bought a second pair.

    Worth the price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Overall, great riding shorts. Fit is superb with the flexible waist band. I have a 35 in waist and size L works. I love the ability to use my existing padded shorts beneath this liner. Used for both road and mountain biking. Dries fast...so I wear them right into coffee shops and restaurants right off the bike.

    Best Mountain Bike Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I've been riding in ZOIC shorts since the 90's, and they keep getting better over time. The Ether short with the Duraflex liner is incredible- very stretchy and durable. The phone pocket on the side is key for those rides when you don't want to wear a Camelbak. I have a 34" waist and wear the larges- I synch up the velcro adjusters just a bit. Get some, you will love them!

    These shorts are simply awesome!

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L

Great shorts! simple and lightweight.. just throw some bibs underneath and away you go. Strong enough to protect those expensive tights below and light enough to barely know their there. Liked them so much, I bought another pair

    Zoic Ether Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: Medium

Great shorts. I have One Ind,Alpinestars and Endura and the Zoic's are by far the most comfortable and easy to wear. Can't wait to get some different colors. Do run a touch small. Normally with mediums, I need to take in a little with the Velcro but not with these.

    Great fitting shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

Looking for some shorts that weren't too long or too short this perfect inseam fit just above the knees. Elastic waist allows flexibility and movement. Pockets are in perfect positions with zippers that allows you to access quick and easy. Love these shorts so much ordered two more pairs in different colors. Great choice if looking for a cross country trail riding shorts that is extremely functionable and looks good on you.

    Super Stretchy

I could probably live a whole summer in these shorts. They remind me of some comfortable old Gramiccis I used to wear all the time. I'm still not sure how you pronounce Zoic, but these shorts have the pockets in the right places and all the features you need to shred hard on your bike. I'd say they do run a little large and I find myself sometimes getting caught up when I swing my leg over the saddle. There are a bunch of brands out there now making products that function as active wear but can be used as lifestyle wear. These shorts nail it.

      Its pronounced "Zo-ick"
