Ether Camo Short + Essential Liner

As wearers of many cycling caps, we have learned to appreciate pieces of cycling kit that don't paint themselves into corners with overly specific use restrictions. The folks at ZOIC must know us, because their Ether Camo Shorts move freely with us between cycling disciplines and demands. Or maybe we're just not as unique as we've always thought, and these shorts fulfill many roles that almost all cyclists can appreciate. If that's the case, then they'll probably be a prized article of clothing for you, too.

The Ethers are made from a blend of materials that wick, ventilate, and stretch to ensure all-day comfort. ZOIC's Fusion Gusset construction gives your inseam the power of stretchy fabric to keep your movement unrestricted and prevent seat hang-ups, eliminating what may be the two biggest reasons for wearing tight shorts on the trail. Bits of strategically place mesh run throughout the shorts to keep you well ventilated. The shorts offer an unconventional amount of storage for bike shorts: two front hand pockets, two zippered pockets on the legs, and one final zippered pocket on the rear. They also have a headphone cable port for all of your jamming needs.

The Ethers also include a detachable IPL Essential Liner, which incorporates a ZO-Tech chamois and makes every pair of shorts in your wardrobe into potential bike shorts. Just pull the liner out of the Ethers, slip it on, and choose which shorts are getting the "bike" prefix for the day.

The ZOIC Ether Camo Shorts - Men's are available in six sizes ranging from Small to XXX-Large in the colors Green Camo and Grey Camo.

  • Versatile mountain bike shorts made for any discipline
  • Durable fabrics offer long-lasting performance
  • Removable liner with chamois for in-the-saddle comfort
  • Extensive pocket space for long riding adventures
  • Inseam gusset improves mobility and eliminates seat hang-ups
  • Mesh ventilation panels for improved air flow
  • Locking zippers with logo tabs stay shut while you ride
  • Stretchy waistband with hook-and-loop straps for adjustability

Great product.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

Love the product, not too tight and not too baggy. Nice material.
Use it for off road and road biking.
Very light, ventilates good (used it from 50 F to 80 F)
Like how you can adjust the waist and how the liner hangs in the shorts.
I really like the liner (and great price), some say it is too big/clunky. But it adjusts after 6/7 rides. I bike around 100 miles a week.
Would buy more of they have more camo colors.
Will buy more liners because I used it under Gore and Fox shorts to and it works great.

Quality is good.

  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Large

They run a bit large so if you like pretty baggy shorts buy your size if you like a better fit buy a size smaller. But good quality shorts.

First time with Zoics

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my first but definitely not the last pair. Light weight and comfortable. Size is right on, went with a medium and fit perfect. Bought these on the recommendation of my gearhead Emily J. Have used them a couple of times now and have put them through the paces.

Really loving the shorts so far. They’re well made and very comfortable. I totally recommend them.

I own 2 pairs of zoic ether shorts, baggy fit, comfy, quick-drying, tons of pockets if your in to that. Adjustable velcro straps at the waist (34"L), don't waste your time with purchasing the liner, maybe if you just ride the park. Only 1 problem, I don't own a pair for each day of the week.

    Great Shorts

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L

This was my first pair of Zoic shorts, and I'm very happy with them. They fit well and are very comfortable/breathable. Chamois is decent enough. The mix of fabrics is perfect for making this shorts stretch and ride great, and all the pockets and other features are great. So far I've had no durability issues, even with a few spills in the dirt. I'd definitely get another pair once mine are worn out.

    The Shorts of Kings

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

These shorts are great and stylish (if you are like my boyfriend and dig the militant trend in outdoor apparel). These shorts have three solid zipper pockets, with the largest having room for an iPhone 5s, a wallet, and car keys. Additionally, these shorts are light and dry quickly, and after my boyfriend wore them in Fruita and Moab, they didn't stink (score).

My other's quarrel with these shorts is their included chamois, he thinks it's garbage. (But he thinks this about all shorts that have chamois, so this might just be personal opinion.)

Here's his broad perspective on chamois: Do yourself a favor and remove the included under-short and get yourself a quality pair of bibs. May I recommend Assos? Assos bibs+zoic shorts=a happy bottom half.

    Happy riding!!

    Sweet shorts!

I have two pairs of these. They are great shorts. They fit well, breath well, and are durable. I have ridden in 100 plus degree heat and they worked well. I liked my first pair so much I got another in the camo and they look cool!

    Like them.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XXL

I ride daily as a commuter. I didn't own any bike shorts, these were my first. They make my ride more comfortable. I tend to keep my bike clothes on when I get busy, and these look good. I liked the velcro tab waist adjustment (I'm fat 270lbs) and it stays on without a belt. The liner unsnaps (I own a pair of REI-made shorts that I cut out the liner from). There's a small ZOIC brand-tab on the right leg hem line, on my right leg that chafes as I ride. My right-leg thigh pocket's inner serged seam started fraying on the first cold-water wash (you could see it dangling out of the pocket), so I hope these stay together. I got the winter camo, and my wife hates the pattern, but I love it.

I wear a 42 waist, and the XXL works great.

    These shorts rock!!!!

II should've got two of these. I can see myself wearing these all summer long and never taken them off. Except when I walk into the macdonnalds in the Greedy little tourist town of west Glacier to rinse them out.

I keep coming back to zoic

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

A tough ride had me endoing off the trail, bouncing across boulders and rocks and into a bush and cactus. Besides gashes and scrapes to me (and stitches), my jersey and shorts were also thrashed. I'll repair them to ride again (iron on repair tape--I'm not too proud!) but I also used it as an excuse to add some new gear to my closet. I've got several Zoic shorts (several Ether and the Reign knickers) and have or have had a couple other brands (Endura, Fox, Lee). I ride several times a week and I tend to reach for the zoic before I work my way to the other brands. The weight of the fabric, stretch, and fit suit me very well for riding here in the rocky mountain west. I ditch the liner as I either ride no chamois or with bibs underneath so I can't report on the liner comfort. A couple of the zoic shorts are offered at a discount without liner which is a great deal for folks like me. I like the looks of the camo and don't regret buying (even with the added expense of the liner). Oh--and a couple years ago I had a pair of zoic ethers that had a defect (came apart at seam)--warranty with Zoic was top notch--replaced with minimal hassle other than the communication back and forth.

      Look great

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

These shorts look great and have a ton of storage. The material breathes easy and very light weight. I have an issue with the liner. They seem to lack room in the crotch area. This could be cause I'm right on the edge of M or L and I went with a M. They are removable though. Other than the minor issue with liner, they seem very durable and the length is perfect. Long enough, but not too long to obstruct pedal motion (by hanging up on knee). Overall great pair of riding shorts and I purchased an additional pair. BackCountry offered them at a great price, so I couldn't pass them up.

      Zoic Bike Shorts

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: large

This is the third pair of Zoic Shorts that I have bought and I find them very comfortable to wear while biking. I most definitely will but more. They give me the support I like while allowing me to stay cool at the same time.

      The shorts for me!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I have been wearing the Ethers for a few years now and they are really the only shorts I wear these days. Not overly big and just the rite length for me. Stretchy stuff in all the right spots and more pockets than you know what to do with.

Now available in camo! come on! I have the grey and they are perfect, not overly offensive camo'ed out just right. Nice detail with the chartreuse zippers. Good job Zoic.

These things last for sure, you definitely get your money's worth.
