Let the music carry you.
Stroll into any jazz club on Beale Street wearing the Polarized Memphis Sunglasses by Zeal Optics and you'll leave 'em all wondering if you're the night's headliner. Almost aviators but a bit too feline for flying. Cotton frames are eco-friendly and will biodegrade when you bury them in your sunglasses graveyard and not a moment before. These shades can accommodate most prescriptions.

Zeal Memphis in Agave/Dark Grey - Love!!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
Thanks to Zeal and Backcountry for picking me to try out and review these great sunglasses!
First off, Zeal is a really great company that uses sustainable practices and somehow (magic, I presume) makes sunglasses with biodegradable frames. That said, it's gonna be a looooong time before these sunnies are in the ground pushing up daisies...
The Memphis is a super cool style - similar to aviators in fit, but different enough from aviators that you don't look like every single other person on the beach/mountain/sidewalk :) They have a bit of a 70's flavor to them, which I love.
They feel really sturdy and well-constructed but are light and comfy enough to wear all day. I often end up with a headache from glasses poking into my skull behind my ears, but haven't noticed that with these ones; they fit me great! The Agave frames are true to the color on the website and are a cool enough color to be a little different, but neutral enough not to clash with anything you wear 'em with. Loving the dark grey polarized lens... they're awesome for bright light and the polarization gives you fantastic clarity! The dark grey keeps the optics pretty true-to-life; everything looks much like it does without sunglasses, but with more sharpness from the polarized lens and protection against bright light. Haven't tested them out in a high-glare sitch (glacier, water) yet, but I'll update on that and the durability in a few weeks!
I'm a female with a decidedly medium face. All of my (men's/unisex) snowboard goggles are "medium" sized for reference. If you have a really big face or head I could see these being a little small, but the fit, size and style seem like they would accommodate a variety of both men's and women's faces and they're gender neutral enough to work great for either.
UPDATE: The best conditions I've found to wear these glasses in, where the lenses really shine, is on those high overcast days where the skies aren't blue but are painfully bright. Walking around on the mountain on a day like this, you get plenty of darkening from the grey lenses, but awesome clarity from the polarization! I find that they lack a little bit in high glare situations (i.e., water) but for day to day use and high overcast, they're rad!!
UPDATE UPDATE: I've been wearing these things nonstop for a few weeks now (they're definitely my new faves) and they're still in great condition - not a scratch in sight!
