    Q Clips

Yakima's roof-top offerings represent the latest evolution of cargo technology, and the Q Clips are the missing link between the Q Tower system and your ride. Pop over to our Yakima Car Rack Configurator tool to match your vehicle's genus and species to the appropriate part number and prepare to enjoy a brave new world.

    • Compatible with Yakima Q Towers

    Some Sturdy Clips

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It is a tad annoying to have to get two different kinds of clips for the front and back of the car; but upon further thought it does make sense, as the shape of the car does change from front to back. That being said, these are a bit tricky to install if you never have before, and make sure to read the instructions that come with them. Than make sure to plan on where to place the vinyl stickers and do so smoothly. These secure snugly to the car, work great and also look great. Have them on my 2012 Scion XD and work great.

    Makes fitting simple

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Yakima Q Clips do a great job of tying the Q Towers to your vehicle. They attach easily to the Towers and provide a great tie-in to any vehicle. As noted in many of the other reviews, this is one pair of clips. Great for one bar, but you'll need two sets if you are putting two load bars on your ride.

    Good Clips

Just got these for the Civic.

      Q clips

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Ordered the q46 clips for my 93 subaru impreza. Fit was alright, took a lot of measuring and adjusting to get them to be tight.

      Get your Q on!!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Can't clip without the Q!!!! Just be sure you enter in all the correct info for your vehicle.

      Good clips

I did quite a bit of searching around to find these expensive clips at a decent price, and found Backcountry.com to be the best.

If you bought your rack used like me, or need to put it on a different car, you NEED to buy new clips. Expensive, but mandatory.

Just so everyone knows, each box comes with:

        - 2 car specific clips

        - 2 rubber pads

        - 2 vinyl stickers to put on the clips where they touch paint

        - Measurement instructions only.

        * Clips required for the front are often different than the back, so double check Yakima's site before you order.

Detailed install instructions can be found here:

        Good clips

        Fits my '01 4Runner

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not much to say other than it fits my car as Yakima designed it to do so. There are not other alternative products to compare it to but it does what it is meant to do.

        Great clips!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just got these for the Civic, they fit great and are just what I needed! The doors open and close fine when they're on. If you order one of these, you are getting a pair (meaning 2), so if you want a set-up for your card, you'll need to order two pairs (to get 4 clips).

        One PAIR of Q-clips

First things first, don't make the stupid mistake I did if you are collecting parts for a full new rack installation: This item is just ONE PAIR of clips; a full rack setup requires TWO PAIRS! Failing to realize this will significantly delay your installation process...

Once installed, they are working great. I have a car with frameless windows, so it looks alarmingly like the windows and Q-clips will collide when opening/closing the doors, but the clearance is perfect when the clips are properly installed.

          Old rack New Car

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got these to put my old rack on my new car. They work great, no problems.

          Bought as a gift

          • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this rack as a gift but have seen the final installation and it appears as though it's working just fine and looks great!

          Great Clips :)

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got these to attach to the Q towers and they fit great! I'd also recommend getting the Yakima Lock Cores for your rack.

          Well designed

Towers appear well built and designed. Make sure to order specific clips for your particular vehicle. As Chad stated, check out the Yakima website. Also, order a package of SKS lock cores for each block. Order more than you need as you will add accessories later and will want the same key for all.

Just the clips i needed for transfering my Yakima rack between cars.

              Needed With Q Towers

If you have purchased a set of Q Towers be sure to also pick up a set of Q clips. You can go to Yakima's website to find the proper clip size for your vehicle. These work perfectly.

My racks are unusable without these clips and now I have to drive to a store to get them terra firma or go to Yakima where i will now have to pay shipping. I think it was bad business to sell me an incomplete set without contacting me.

                Pretty sweet.

Using Q106 clips on my '00 Maxima. Fit just fine, though concerned about possible door seal compression/tearing over time. Believe these are the best solution on the market, just aren't perfect. Happy to have them though, they do the job quite well.

Vince, just wondering if you've had any door seal issues with the Q clips since the install.

WAPITI77, I did begin to experience whistling in the area, though I couldn't tell if it was just turbulence or actually air getting inside. No water leakage. I did experience dents in the roof at each contact point though. The manual is clear that my car's roof is soft, but at the recommended load the rack slipped at higher speeds.

                  Whole setup on a mazdaspeed6

These are the correct clips for the Mazdaspeed6, even though they are not listed on the setup guide.
