Go get the untouched.
Tired of feeling like you're standing on stilts when you're splitboarding? The Voile Light Rail Splitboard Binding is designed to interface directly with your Voile pucks to eliminate the thick baseplate that's often found on standard snowboard bindings. The Light Rail works hand-in-hand with the lightweight aluminum construction to simplify your setup, reduce weight, and improve performance. To illustrate the function in sum, the Light Rail essentially takes the slider piece that you would normally use to attach your standard bindings to, and transforms it into the baseplate.
This means the Light Rail's baseplate slides directly onto the pucks, putting you closer to the board. It also creates a more stable, secure feel so your splitboard performs more like a solid board. The Avalanche Rip Cord release system allows you to undo both straps with the pull of a cord so you can bail out in avalanche rescue situations. A negative forward lean setting allows for longer strides so you can tour across flats more comfortably and efficiently. The straps reduce pressure points and redesigned ratchets operate more smoothly. If you like to reach your lines with your own two feet, the Light Rail won't hold you back.

- Q & A
Love these binders!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've been rocking these binders for the past 3 years and love them. I put about 200 days on them and never had a single issue. Never! One thing to keep in mind is that you want to minimize the number of failure points in a binding and by keeping it simple, you reduce the risk of being stranded in the backcountry or stuck on a knife-edge ridge unable to descend. Less moving parts = less likely something will go wrong. Big fan of these bindings because they've never let me down! Nice work Voile!
Great Introductory Splitboard Binding
These bindings are great no complaints, at first i was concerned about the toe straps functionality just from their appearance but once I used them i realized they worked just fine. Easy to use and plenty of ways to adjust and hone in the settings for your boots if you take the time to do so. really responsive and very stable with high speed riding,
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I used the women's version myself a couple times and had some buddies who used this version and all in all, I would not recommend them. For $100 more you have a binding (Speed Rail Bindings) that is lighter and has a transition time that dwarfs the light rails. The straps on these bindings are not engineered well and my buddy Josh's got jammed and ruined our tour. If you do decide to go with the more economic option of the light rail, add a couple of Voile Straps to your cart to fix the bindings in a pinch. If you have questions about splitboard hardware give me a ring and I'd be happy to get you ready for the season.
Happy Backcountry Touring Hubby!
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Purchased these a Christmas gift along with a new splitobard for my husband and he loves everything about his new setup! I'm not exactly sure how these work but I can tell you that he was able to fit the bindings himself with ease.
