Why not have both?

From working on front boards through double-kinks to seeking out untouched pow stashes, your feet are sure to enjoy the ride when they're outfitted with the Vans Men's Implant Boa Snowboard Boots. Understated style conceals high-tech features, such as the Hybrid Boa system that combines tried-and-true traditional lacing with a single Boa dial that controls tightness to prevent heel lift, even if you keep the laces loose. Then, depending on your mood, the Reach Around cuff strap either wraps around the liner or the tongue of the shell to tailor the fit to your liking, while the Custom Slide Guide adjusts where the Boa closure puts pressure on your instep for (you guessed it) customized comfort.

Thermo-moldable foam in the Response liner offers a comfy custom fit, and an internal heel harness prevents heel lift for better control. This liner's smooth micro-suede cuff makes slipping boots on and off a breeze, while a heat-retaining temperature shield reflects body heat back to your feet for extra warmth on frigid days. The V2 EVA footbed features high-rebound impact relief pads at both the forefoot and heel to absorb harsh impacts and smooth out vibrations in choppy terrain. It's finished off with a WaffleFlex outsole that blends the light weight and cushioning of EVA with hard-wearing rubber for traction, durability, and efficient snow release.

Sweet boots

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for a friend of mine as a gift and asked them to review it, this is their review;
Size: 7.5
Love the Boa system. I’ve never had a boot with the boa system and now I don’t think I’ll go back. Nothing beats how the boa locks down your ankle and the lace is a favorite of mine as well. Feels great hiking in and doing any style of riding you want. Make sure to get them heat molded.

Boa Focus is a game-changer

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Call me old fashioned, but I've always ridden traditional lace boots, and plan on continuing to do so--with one caveat, however. they have to have Boa Focus now. These boots feel just like regular traditional lace, except the Boa cinches around your ankle to lock your heel down securely, without causing pressure points. The result is less fatigue and better response without sacrificing the feel I love. Only complaint is the liner material makes it pretty difficult to get your foot in.

Gift

Got these for my brother-in-law for the holidays back in the east so he can get back into boarding. He hasn't rode in years and is looking to get back into it so he can start taking his son. He hasn't had a chance to ride in them yet but I have initial reviews. They fit true to size, pretty light weight and the style is very simple so it goes well with mostly everything. He wears a 9.5/10 in regular shoes and the 10's work great for him. The boa system also adds to the functionality of these boots.
