Amy's ant is a solid terrestrial pattern that i have found to work all lover the rocky mountain west. From tailwaters, to freestones, and of course meadow streams this fly excels in a lot of situations. Floats well too

Highly effective fly

This fly is constructed well and will slay trout.

Great fly

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Used in small lake for sunfish and had excellent results

a staple

It's always a good idea to have a few ants on you while on the river. Regardless of where you are, at least on water in the western states, there will be ants. If all else fails and everything you're throwing isn't working, tie this on. Solid pattern.

    Awesome Ants!

These ants are great. The flashing on the bottom seems to do a good job of attracting attention when other patterns aren't doing much and as always they're made with Umpqua quality. I made the mistake of only buying 2 of these before a trip up to Idaho. The 2 I had were so mangled when I got home that I purchased 6 more!
