Your local trails might have a tendency to offer some pretty pleasant snowshoeing, but when you're setting off into the backcountry you're going to need a snowshoe that's ready for anything. Kit yourself up with the Tubbs Flex Alp Snowshoe and you'll have no problem tackling tough terrain and icy conditions. Already a beloved favorite, the Flex Alp now features a new Active Fit 2.0 binding, which uses a TPU cinch strap for ease of use and a decrease in ice build-up when you're deep in the backcountry. It also releases quickly with a single pull, and features an easy heel buckle that can be adjusted and secured with one hand.
Besides the updated binding, the Flex Alp remains largely the same, relying on its tried and trusted design to help you take on new challenges in the backcountry. Living up to its name, the Flex Alp offers both horizontal and vertical flexibility as you hike. The horizontal, torsional flexibility allows your snowshoe to easily adapt to variations in surfaces and terrain, and the vertical flexibility, courtesy of the reliable Flex Tail design, allows your foot to roll naturally from heel to toe to give you a more comfortable stride and reduced stress on joints and muscles. No-nonsense traction is provided by the Viper 2.0 toe crampon and 3D-Curved Traction Rails, which give you both uphill and sidehill grip in even the most hardpacked conditions. And when you're hoofing it up steep hills and summit slopes, you can quickly turn to the 19-degree heel risers to help relieve some stress on your tired but happy muscles.
