Well designed, easy to use, comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: one size

For some background, I am 74, and I am in very good physical condition considering I've dealt with a hemispherical spinal cord injury affecting my right side partially paralyzing my right leg, arm and hand and weakening the right side of my core for 32 years. I bought the chair so I could remove my shoes and other garments allowing me to get into my tent without dragging dirt, sand, mud, etc. into the tent. This chair is great. It's light and compact when folded. It's easy to assemble, even by me while mostly using my left hand. It feels sturdy to sit in and stable, and it is quite comfortable. Also it is high enough to easily get in and out of. I don't feel as though I'm going to tip or fall out. The feet are designed to work on both hard and soft surfaces and they do that well. Remarkably it is easy to disassemble and pack in the provided bag as well. In short, it's a great chair.

Simple and easy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'll update once I use this. I chose this chair over the Helinox Chair 2. This chair sat me higher off the ground which I liked and found it to be more comfortable. It does not offer the same back support, but I could slouch or lounge in it without sliding out or feeling like I'd fall over. It is easy to set up and light enough to take backpacking. I'll pack an extra pound over my usual stool for some comfort.

The Joey

    Great Travel Companion

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Whether you are backpacking, car camping, traveling, cooking out, going to a music festival or just need a spare chair these guys are comfortable, affordable and relatively lightweight.

    Great Travel Companion

    Awesome size, reasonable weight

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is basically my go to camp chair now that I have it. The size is easy to pack in a car, its very light and it can hold atleast 220 lbs as proof from one of my drunk buddies plopping in it on the last day up at the ski resort! Definitely would recommend this.

    This chair...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times one of the better purchases I've ever made! I can take this anywhere; camping, climbing, music festivals, my front yard, etc., and it's perfect for all of those things! It's not quite as light or as compact as a similar brand of chairs that start with an H, but unless you're planning to backpack with this it's still great! Definitely pick one of these up and don't look back.

    Great chair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this chair all summer. I've been using it out camping at the beach and in the mountains and love it. It's light, it's compact for packing and carrying, but it's still as close to a regular folding camp chair as you can get for the convenience of how small it is. I'm using it now for my kids' football and soccer games. We've since bought 4 more for the rest of the family. Would definitely recommend this chair.

    Best Chair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This chair is comfortable, it's small and it's light. It's easy for anyone in our family to put together, including kids. It's worked out great for us and we've been using ours for several summers now.

    Best Camp Chair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This chair is light, small, and comfortable. Easy to pack and carry. We've been using ours solid for the last couple weeks now that we have good weather for backpacking. I've switched out all my other chairs for this one.

    All time favorite chair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This chair is light, compacts small like the picture posted with the nalgene bottle and is comfortable. I use it weekly and it just carry it around in my trunk and it takes up no room!

    My go to Chair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We've had 4 chairs for almost 2 years now and we them at every football, soccer and baseball game, camping and even backyard BBQ for extra seating. For sure, hands down, my most favorite chair. They're light, small and easy to carry so the kids help trek from the car to the field. They're also easy to setup.

    Music Festival Approved

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We are traveling to Electric Forest this year and flying with gear to a music festival is something I had never done before. we have always driven and been able to just cram the car full of whatever size stuff we needed. However flying restrictions made it a bit more difficult and we had to cut down on weight. These camping chairs were perfect! They pack down small and light too. They are minimalist chairs so you can't just throw them around so I would keep that in mind. Other than that they serve their purpose. we've taken it out on other camping trips and it has been great! I highly recommend this chair especially if you want to enjoy a concert or music festival.

    Chair broke

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

4 of us bought this chair at the same time 4 years ago. They were only used 2 weeks a year for 4 years. All 4 chairs have broke.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I took this chair camping right after getting it and it broke in less than 48 hours. One of the legs you insert into a little corner pouch broke right through the pouch. I'm 105 pounds and sat down and kept going! Max weight is 275, so this should not have happened, especially being brand new!

    Nalgene bottle scale picture

Packs down smaller than any of my other chairs.

      Great for day hikes!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used it for the San Luis Obispo Tri Tip hike. You climb 3 peaks in the area and this was perfect for sitting down in an looking out over valleys while taking rests at the top of each peak. And honestly, because it's not a super strenuous hike, the 2 lbs wasn't noticeable in my pack. I had more than that in water!

      Work fantastic!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought 5 of these chairs, one for myself, wife and three children. I have used them extensively for 2 years with absolutely no problem at all. I use them several times a year on every backpacking trip and also during my winter backpacking trips. I'm sorry the other reviewer had such bad luck, but I love mine and have recommended them to everyone I backpack with. Others that have bought them after my recommendation have also loved theirs with no issues.

      Not up to the task

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought two Joey Chairs last December. One for myself and one for my son. Mine broke the first time I tried it. It was replaced with no problem. The next time, attempting to be cautious the replacement also broke.

My son's broke on the first outing after a couple of days. Now both are broke and beyond the 90 day return period. The plastic knuckles where all the legs enter simple shatters.
