Simplicity for versatility's sake.

Trango kept its Regulock HMS Carabiner simple so you can use it for anything in the vertical world. This locking carabiner comes in either a screw gate that's ideal for anchors or an auto-locking twistlock that's perfect for belaying. Both gates feature keylock noses to eliminate snagging.

Awesome Locking Carabiner!

I use this screw locking carabiner on my ATC mostly. It gets the job done, I have noticed after belaying and rappelling with this after less then two months climbing about 3 times a week on a few pitches, it has sadly lost some of its color from rope burn, I am a little surprised with how much it changed the last couple months but none the less a great screw locking carabiner you can use for almost anything!

    Two actions to open

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought two of these for mountaineering and rock climbing. This carabiner only requires two actions to open, twist and push. To be a locking carabiner it must have three actions so I will not use these as locking carabiners so for me it is just a big bulky non locking carabiner.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Beefy carabiner. I use the screwlock as my belay carabiner. Holding up well so far after nearly a year of use. No complaints.

    There when you need em.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Needed some new biners for anything and everything. From hanging up the hammock to attaching my water bottle to my pack, these have all held up nicely and the coloring makes them easily identifiable when camping with a bunch of carabiner-grubbing friends.

    My go-to biners

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my go to lockers. Whenever I need new ones to add to my rack, these are what I get. Even though they are thick around, they are lighter than many other lockers I've come across. They are big enough so that anchors or PASs aren't totally cluttered. I like the manual screw so I always know I've screwed it. It keeps my safety double and triple checks in like and a habit.

    Easy twist lock

Easy to use twist lock makes this carabiner great to have.

      Gets the job done

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have both the screw and autolocking version of this guy. They are decently priced. Easy to use. And get the job done. After using them for a long time I wouldn't say there is anything remarkably different between this and many other multipurpose carabiners out. They are easy to belay with and work well for anchoring.

I will say that they do last a long time a hold up to abuse. I used to work as a rock guide and would belay for at least 8 hours a day 3-5 days a week and these guys lasted for about 2 seasons before getting pitted out to the point that I didn't want to use them anymore. They really didn't get sharp either as they wore out.

      Super nice

Chose the auto-locking caribeaner and must say it has great action and is fairly easy to use single handed. The smooth spine and nice pear shape fit in hand really comfortably and I havent had any problems with cross loading or tumbling while belaying on ATC or Gri GRi.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

        Keeping it meaty.
        Smooth action.
        Big basket.

        Listen to Jeff Sorenson

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Jeff said that this biner is "affordable and beefy," like a Big Mac.

        He's right.

        Autolock is a little different

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just wanted to give a heads up that the autolock feature on this carabiner only requires that you twist the gate, you don't have to push it down and then twist like most autolockers. Seriously doubt this affects safety, but maybe someone with more R&D experience can elaborate .... otherwise, solid piece of equipment and awesome color combo!

        Affordable and beefy.

The twistlock option is smooth, fast, and secure and is great when belaying. All in all, it does the job and is pretty affordable.

          Bomber and smooth!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got the twistlock version for belay and it's awesome. Super smooth action and fairly light for an hms.

          And affordable!

          Better than BD Rocklock!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the same size and shape as the Black Diamond Rocklock carabiner, but the color is soooooo much better! I love the Rocklock, but I hate BD's Mocha color. It used to be an awesome orange. Now it's been Mocha for the last however many years?! Thank you Trango for making this awesome carabiner in an awesome colorway! I will be buying many more when the screwgate comes back into stock. They sell out so fast!

          Standard, Solid

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought a pair of these screw-lock caribiners for the main anchor point where the rope passes through on my top rope and rappel anchors. I have used the setup many times with two different ropes, as well as used one for a rappel. The generous opening is nice. I also really like the bright colors because it is easy to see them for a last anchor check and harder to lose them!

The screw lock slides well without issue and the gate opens without catches. The smooth, higher-diameter body is what I look for in my master-point caribiners. This is not super light, but it feels solid, which is my preference when I am not carrying it up a wall.
