Trango Low Bulk Slings

Skinny slings you can depend on.

The Trango Low Bulk Slings live up to their name with an eleven-millimeter width and the approximate weight of a feather. Their light weight and low bulk are due to the UltraTape material that combines durable nylon with light Dyneema for an optimum performance in the vertical world. Despite its skinniness, these slings stay strong so you can depend on them when you need to move fast and efficiently in order to send before the sun sets.

Great Sling

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I recently bought these slings in the 60 cm length to build some alpine draws and they're great! I love the diameter which is nice and sturdy but coils up nicely to make the draw and truly is low bulk and low weight. I haven't had them long enough to see how they hold up over time, but so far they seem to be doing great! I also really like the Ultratape material that combines nylon and Dyneema. It makes me feel warm inside knowing I'm getting the best of both worlds.

Clean & Fast

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The name says it all: Low Bulk. And with the same UIAA ratings you'd find on any other sling twice the girth/weight, what's left to ponder?
These have held up surprisingly well considering the sleek construction. These are now my go-to slings and anytime I have a chance to replace or add inventory I now go with these for all three sizes.
If you wear your slings around your chest then the light and supple yet robust design of these are ideal.

Great for alpine draws and runners.

Alpine draws

Bought a couple of these to make a couple of alpine draws. I didn't need a full set and put a couple together with these slings. They work great and match the rest of my draws!

    Really nice slings

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've got a few of pretty much every sling on the market right now and these might just be my new favorite. They've got the shortest bar tack of any sling I have, the material is supple, doesn't seem overly hard to unknot and they are indeed low bulk. They're most similar to BD dynex runners, only flatter in cross section, and maybe a bit tighter weave. They definitely seem more resistant to fuzzing than the super skinny Mammuts.

    Are these the ultratape slings?

These slings provide all the benefits and durability of our "UltraTape material in a less-bulky package. Low Bulk 11mm Slings are ideal when you're headed to the mountains and need to move fast and efficiently with the utmost confidence in your gear."

    Stoked

I picked up a few of these along with the Trango Phase biners to create some extendable draws. The sling is a little stiff at first, but they loosened up nicely and handle really well.

    Great addition to the rack

    Balance

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like these over other slings because they are just wide enough to last longer and feel a little safer, but they still rack very compactly.
