Topeak Pocket Shock DXG Fork & Shock Pump

Perfect pressure.

Topeak’s Pocket Shock DXG Fork & Shock Pump features a 300psi gauge and a pressure tuning air-release button to ensure that your shocks stay pressurized wherever you go. Topeak uses a durable aluminum barrel, and its carbon-faced gauge adds a bit style. The pump also has a convenient rotating hose with a Pressure Rite connector and a Kraton-covered plastic handle. The Pocket Shock DXG is only 21.5cm long, so you’ll have no trouble stowing it in a jersey pocket.

Shock Pump

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Works great for pumping up shocks and forks and is very accurate with the air pressure.

proper pump.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

An easy to use pump for getting the pressure exactly where you want it.

Its a shock pump!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Gets the PSI were it is supposed to be and in a timely fashion. Has the pressure release button which is key for dialing in the perfect pressure. Seems solid and should last a lifetime I'm assuming? Good Pump!

At Home in the Toolbox

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really like how the Pocket Shock DXG doesn't bleed an unknown amount of air out when it's screwed in or removed from a valve. You can get quite precise with this pump, and it's small and lightweight enough to carry in your pack if you need to do some on the fly suspension tuning.

Gets the job done.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really small and easy to pack away for mid trail adjustments. The hose locks into the handle to keep things from flopping around in your bag.

Dial in that shock pressure

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Quality made, easy to read, compact, light shock pump. I like how the hose snaps into the handle to keep it secure while traveling.

Can't go wrong

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This shock pump works great. It's pretty small so easy to fit in a pack for longer rides. The valve screws on easily and connection doesn't really lose much air when you disconnect, maybe a couple PSI at most. The bleed button allows you to reduce pressure incrementally. The gauge seems to be accurate as well.

If you try to let air out without a shock pump you might find yourself letting out 25+ PSI at a time, which is not good for dialing in suspension pressure. Buy this pump and be diligent with your suspension setup!

Excellent Shock Pump

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this pump before heading out on just about every ride to make sure I am running the correct pressure. It's so small and light, I take it with me in my pack as well, just in case I want to make an adjustment on longer or more demanding rides.

Dial your suspension every ride

I use this pump to check shock pressure and dial it in for every ride. It's part of the preside routine now, check the tire pressure (with a tire pump) and check the shock pressure. I've lived happily ever after. The pump has an easy to use connection that doesn't allow and bleed loss while disconnecting. It light, easy to read, and has a bleed down valve for lowing pressure (think shock rebuilds)

    quality product

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

so far, only used it to slightly adjust front & rear shocks. but it seems like its built well and its certainly small enough to throw in the camel back with your other stuff you carry on longer rides.

    Works Great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been very happy with this little shock pump. It feels very well built and the pressure gauge seems accurate. It's a great size to throw in your pack for on-the-trail adjustments if you're dialing in the pressure a new bike or a loaner.

    Finicky at first

I was a little unhappy with this pump when I first pulled it out of the package and put it to use on the bike. Worked great on the fork but when it came time to fill up the rear shock the pump wasn't registering pressure at first. Took about a dozen times of putting it on and off the rear shock until it finally worked. Once we were up and running I was much happier. Smooth action makes for easy pumping and I particularly like the analog dial, too many possibilities of failure with digital gauges. This thing definitely gets the job done on most forks and rear shocks.

      Great Shock Pump!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to use, easy to read display, simple to bleed off pressure before removing. Would definitely recommend!

      Best shox pump ever

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

      I love it

      Works great

I've only used it once, but I worked great. Easy on off, accurate pressure reading, light weight, high quality. It was also a great price. No complaints.

        Well built

This tool does exactly what it's made to do. It's built solid and I like how easy to use (and easy to read) it is. Great price as well. This is a shock pump worth having.

          Simple and Solid

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have tested the gamut of shock pumps and this one comes out on top.
          1. Large gauge displays pressure in psi and bar
          2. Threaded head for quick adjustments
          3. Bleed screw allows the pump to de-pressure prior to removal and reduces air loss
          4. Volume per stroke is best in class
          5. Shiny finish doesn't wear off in a month

I would add this to your personal shop arsenal.

Sean, Thanks for the great review!

A Reliable Shock Pump - Finally

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This shock pump is great, it has an accurate gauge and what I really like about this pump is the head has a longer metal nose, so if you are pumping up your dropper seatpost it will actually fit down into the post. It isn't huge, so it will easily fit into a hydro pack if you want to take it with you. This thing is reliable and I would recommend it over any other shock pump on the market.

          Awesome pump

I bought this when I bought my fork, because I wasn't sure if the fork came with one or not. I now know that pretty much all air sprung forks include a pump. Anyway, this one is way better than the one that came with my fork. The main reason I say this is because of the Pressure Rite connector which opens and closes the valve on the fork or shock independently of the coupler on the pump. Whatever pressure you pump to, is where it will stay when you remove it. Topeak makes a dual stage pump that will fill tires too, but it doesn't have the Pressure Rite connector. I'm really happy now that I mistakenly ordered this pump.
