The large number of chain types creates somewhat of a bomb-defusing scenario when going for a chain tool, as incompatible interfaces will lead to catastrophic results. Topeak's Link Meister, on the other hand, can easily accommodate both pin and link type chains.
Topeak's hardened chain tool works with all multi-speed chains — including the newest 11-speed hollow pin chains. For SRAM Power Links, the Link Meister features special link jaws that are activated by integrated pliers in the handle, which allows for quick and safe disassembly. Also, the Link Meister uses an adjustment knob that allows it to accept different width chains.
Topeak includes a chain hook, wear indicator, and acrylic display stand with the Link Meister.
