    Never received

Backcountry delivered to a different address where it was accepted. Feeling defrauded right now

      Comfortable but difficult to store

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this for a week's worth of car camping and it worked great overall. I was comfortable and slept soundly, even in single-digit temperatures. I would use this again for lazy tent camping, looking forward to a good night's sleep.

The foam core makes it difficult to pack, store, and unpack from the back of a vehicle. It takes up a lot of space.

It also arrives really tightly packed, maybe almost vacuum-packed, and took almost a week to return to its normal size once I received it. That included adding a little bit of air to it and trying to keep it in warmer spots around the house. I was disappointed to see it arrive, brand new, rolled up so tightly. (Not backcountry's fault of course.)

      Best Sleep While Camping

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A co-worked recommended this pad and it did not disappoint. I have never slept so well while camping! The best part is it wasn't even fully inflated and I was too lazy to blow up the rest of it yet it was still super comfortable! It deflated and rolled up quickly after use too - super easy!

      Soooooo Comfy!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The most comfy sleeping pad that my wife and I have ever slept on! We invested in two MondoKing Pads, the Coupler, and the Dorado HD Duo Bag as our car camping sleep system. Best investment ever! My wife has a bad back from a climbing accident she sustained 3 years ago and every other pad she's slept on left her back aching the next day. The MondoKing was the first pad that leaves her feeling great the next day, so that should tell you something about the level of support this pad offers. You won't regret buying this one!

      Very comfy

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are our go-to pads for camping. Our kids love them and don't complain when using them that they are uncomfortable. If anything happened to any of the ones we have we will replace them with the same exact thing no question.

      Awesome bed replacement

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I chose to change my lifestyle significantly and replaced my bed with this and it is incredible. Comfortable sleeping every night for 5 months on it. I never liked a soft plush bed and camp air mats like these allow you to control the density with the amount of air inside and nights I wanted a firmer bed, I just gave it a little more air. This is solid for an air mattress and the side walls maintain their shape and never get any deflating feeling when I use this constantly.

Excellent car camping pad; obviously way to large for any other purpose, but sleeps really well. Able to adjust firmness based on amount of air in mattress. Allows for best side sleeping of any inflatable mattress i've tried and I previously had the Thermarest 'Dream time' before this one. Slept on this for 10 days of car camping without any issues. Only minor complaint is that the auto-inflate is so efficient that it makes it difficult to deflate enough to fit back in its bag.

        Comfortable and light

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Easily carried with other items for backpacking/hiking. Lightweight and long

        Amazing Sleep Pad

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is by far the best car camping sleeping pad on the market. It will keep you plenty warm off the ground. The only con is inflating and deflating the pad. The pad is pretty large and sometimes difficult to compress back into the bag.

        Good First Impression

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a bad lower back and wanted some comfort while camping with my 8 year old on Scouting and other camping trips. I am 5’11” and weigh about 180 lbs. I have only used this mattress once and was very impressed. I was extremely warm and comfortable on a 30 degree night. I paired it with a 20 degree Nemo Verve sleeping bag. A friend of mine was using a much less expensive air mattress from a big box retailer and said that he was cold all night and slept terribly. I followed the instructions and over inflated the pad for 24 hours after it arrived. I found it very easy to compress and fit into the included storage bag for our camping trip. It was simple to unroll in the tent. I opened the valves and let it self inflate. I struggled to justify the cost of this mattress but after using it, I am glad that I purchased it. I would highly recommend it based on my initial use. I am keeping it inflated and stored under a sofa while not in use.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm 6'4" 260 lbs, side sleeper, and this is almost as nice as sleeping in my own memory foam bed. I have two (one for my wife, one for me), and we leave them inflated under our bed. The only negative is they are HARD to deflate/roll up. It takes nearly 10 minutes per roll. I fold in half, lay on it, then close valves to keep it from refilling. Roll it halfway, lay on it, close valves. Unroll, reroll further, close valves. You get the point. I have to reroll and lay on it 5-6 times to finally get all the air out. However, this is WORTH the comfort it provides. Would I take it backpacking? Heck no. However, we car camp a lot and these are perfect in that scenario. We took our boys to an overnight at the zoo last night. While everyone else slept on 1" thick air mats, we enjoyed the comfort of these (minus my kids; they roughed it on the provided pads, ha... they're young; they can handle it). My wife is not much of a camper, but she was finally able to sleep well after using this. YAY! More camping trips! I even took it on a cub scout cabin camping trip and put it on top of the old mattresses provided. For best use, I like to let it fill all the way, then sleep with my head by the valves. I'll slowly release some of the air until it's at the right comfort level for me. I like to let out enough air so I sink in a bit more and the mat conforms around me a bit. This is where the Mondo truly shines. I'm a fan. Buy one; you'll love it.

Can't see anyone not liking this

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Works great. Comfortable as all hell. Wide and long for large people. This is a car camper dream. Use it for guests that drop in at your house too. Worthy of adding to your gear stockpile

Side sleepers - keep on looking

Like all Thermarest products, it self inflates as advertised. However, foam is fairly dense so even though really thick, it's somewhat hard. I was expecting a much softer pad than this. I am a side sleeper and always looking for something that is going to let my shoulder sink down into it. Not so with this. Put some air in a 2" thermarest, close the cap and it feels about same. I never slept on it for a night, but I could tell just laying on it that it would not be comfortable. Next and perhaps biggest issue is rolling it up. It is incredibly difficult to roll this thing up. I had to have me (200 lbs) and my son (230 lbs) sit on it at ever turn to get it small enough to fit in stuff sack. Plus, the denseness of foam fights you at ever roll. I thought this would be great for multi-day raft trips, but its not. If you are looking for a car camping setup, stick with a traditional thermarest on top of a cot. Much better setup and with the size of this thing even rolled up, not much more space!

Needless to say I am returning this.

          The Ultimate Glamping Pad

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love this pad for car camping. It is huge when rolled up, so definitely not useful for other types of camping, but when the space is there, this will be my go to. I slept super soundly on it and finally didn't feel like my hip was digging into the ground. The self inflating is really nice too. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good night's rest while doing some car camping.

          Sleep like a princess

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This sleeping pad is amazing, it's self inflating foam means I don't have to break a sweat pumping it up. It's super thick and long. I used to use an Exped SynMat 7 which squeaked every time I moved but no more squeaking with the MondoKing! The drawback is that this pad is definitely only for car camping due to it's rolled up size (my friend thought I brought another tent that's how large the sack is) but other than that it is an excellent product if you want to sleep soundly through the night and feel as if you were sleeping in your bed at home.
